I'm not saying that it should be cancelled, just that if they don't find a director at least by next year or so, then there'd be production issues and maybe a rushed development.

I say this as someone who still really wants a Godzilla 2.

I'd be fine with this, honestly. If Kong: Skull Island features a nod or a wink to Godzilla in it, you know it's gonna draw some major curiosity. Having Kong vs Godzilla come out right after in chronological time would make more sense.

So? If you like King Kong then chances are you'll go see KvG, and if you like KvG you'll probably go see Godzilla 2.
