Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

I would hope that the show would focus on Titans that have yet to be seen on screen. I would love to see an episode on the Loch Ness monster .

Not really helpful on what this movie is.

I take it they might be a little bit inspired by Michael Dougherty's Godzilla B.C. idea.

So are we thinking sequel with flashbacks to the original conflict? Either way hopefully this one does right by Kong! He was the true star of the first one, well him and his little girl handler. Hopefully this one puts him more in line with the Kong we saw in skull Island and not some tamed animal. Also, speaking about the Godzilla Apple series, I would hope they would focus on lesser used titans. I really hope to see a stand alone episode on Nessie the Loch Ness monster. Toho was originally going to have a Loch Ness monster movie in the 70s, hopefully we can get at least an episode now knowing that Nessie is in the monster verse.

You're saying as if GvK didn't do right by Kong?

Yeah, he lost to Godzilla, but he was still pretty much the kaiju protagonist, had more screentime, more development, and even tore the crap into MechaGodzilla in the climax while Godzilla was getting his lizard booty kicked out of him. i don't see how much correction you need after that.

If anything, I hope to see more of the two of them working together and 'interacting' with each other since it wouldn't make a lot of sense to make them fight again.

Total mischaracterization in that film. He was nothing more than a tamed pet. Godzilla was spot on, but that was not Kong. Yes he was the protagonist, because he’s the only titan that can actually carry a film. His emotions are human like, but make no mistake about it, he needs to be more savage as in Kong 33, 05 and skull island . They don’t need to work together, because they are territorial and Kong needs to go over on Godzilla . Any team up should come much like it did in the last film, but Kong should never bow to Godzilla and also be able to prove that he is just as much an alpha . That last film did not do right by Kong, he couldn’t break his chains like he did in skull island, 33 , 76 and 05, and was losing to that flying creature before the humans intervened. Anyone who thought that was Kong is clearly not familiar with the character.

For this to work, Kong has to prove to be Godzilla’s equal. And while that might not sit well with Godzilla fans, it’s the way this film progresses . Kong losing again would be a total retread and waste of film. This film needs to go the other way and leave it at that. That would leave it were it rightfully needs to be. A Draw and both fan bases leave satisfied. Godzilla goes over the first movie with Kong going over in the sequel . They can give Godzilla the victory over the big bad at the end and again everyone leaves happy.

And let me just add this, I realize I’m in the minority in regard to this on this board, but that’s just my feeling and opinion on the character. If you’re going to do the character at least have him true to who he has been in other films. It was a good film, I just think they could have done a lot better by Kong than was shown on film. Again that’s just my feelings on the matter, not really looking for anyone else to agree with me.

Going to say that we must have seen two completely different films, Joe, and leave it at that.

Weird that you seem to leave out the most relevant film for comparison, KK v G.

I honestly don’t consider the Ape in King Kong vs Godzilla to be Kong either. That Ape behaved nor looked like King Kong. He was an alcoholic ape from mondo. Not to mention the shady way that film got made. To each their own though. I wish we could have got King Kong vs Frankenstein ( which was what Kong’s original creator wanted)

Not much of a surprise really. When Adam Wingard was first announced to come back, I always figured it was going to be a Kong sequel.

Should be cool to see more of Hollow Earth though.
