Kramer's A Racist!!!

at first I thought..."nah this is probably something being blown way out of proportion.."

Holy crap...that really is un-f***ing called for. There goes what little was left of his career. He sounded really drunk. Only real racists say racist things when they're that drunk...he cannot use any excuses imo on covering his butt for this one.

No, because you're claiming something that doesn't belong to you.

I'll let your dead grandma make a joke about my dead grandpa though.
My family doesn't belong to me? Were you dropped on a doorstop?

Then, your family history is part of you. All of it.

Anyway, Kramer's a tool.

But as an individual, you're claiming a right that doesn't belong to you. You're not the one who was enslaved, your grandmother was.

Your family history belongs to you, but the wrongs done in your family tree do not. The wrongs belong to the individual wronged and his alone.

Yes I was dropped on a doorstep, for I am immortal.

People are going to ban Seinfeld episodes and burn them in the street like they did the Dixie Chicks and not play them in Detroit. He was wrong but it is blown way out of proportion like most everything a celebrity does is. Rappers call caucasions "Crackers" and get away with it. And for those who start to bring up slavery...white people in Feudal Europe were indentured slaves and serfs for centuries longer than African Americans in the US.

You keep telling yourself that, maybe you'll believe it one day.

I do. But I don't for a second believe that people can achieve "perfection" and live in a world without "racism". That's just the failure of humanity. People are inherently imperfect.

You just do the best you can do and go on about life. I can't go out and lay in the middle of the street because bitterness and prejudice exist.

Indeed. So, what's your point? To even things out, should we go back to the days when white folks exclusively made fun of blacks (blackface, Stephin' Fletchit, Yassa!)? Comedy isn't always funny to everyone.

really? slaves to whom?

So, tell me if im getting this wrong, according to certain folk in this thread, its ok for black people to make racial slurs against other races, but it cant be made about them because of slavery?

My point, which I've been making all along, is that blacks today have to get over the past, because there isn't anything that wasn't done to them that hasn't been done to anybody else and there isn't anything that can be done that can make up for the past. Any attempt to make up for the past is simply slavery in another form, by making people responsible when they were not.

It's not one's family history that makes a person, but the choices that person makes in his lifetime and any attempt to do so otherwise is an abdication of personal responsibility.

No, you should read the thread again.

It's not slavery. Or even race. It's power. And, the same right that a rapper and Kramer can both be jerks.

If a black comedian called a white heckler a cracker would anyone say anything?

If Chris Rock called a black heckler an N-word would anyone say anything?

Not defending Kramer's actions, just some food for thought.

Slaves to the Romans, slaves to the Muslims, slaves to the Feudal lords who held the land by force.

Well, can't somebody find a clip where that happened?

exactly. I'm guessing chaseter doesn't get this rather subtle distinction.

I don't think I get it either, what do you mean?

Kramer was the worst part of Seinfeld anyway.

Ouch. :csad:
I always thought that dubious distinction went to Elaine, but yeah.
George ftw.

does cracker have the same weight as ******?
one comes from power over a person, demeaning, dehumanizing with a single word.
the other is an insult, both racial, but one carries a much sinister meaning.
I have no idea why black people use it for each other actually. that is weird.

I never forgave him for jacking Elaine's childhood bike. What a *****e.

Blacks today? So, we're just all living in the past. Right.

Thank you!

So, in conclusion, black people hate white people and white people hate black people?
