Calling it the Anti-Monitor anything would've ruined the surprise at the end of the special. But it really should've been called the Yellow Demon Corps or the Parallax Corps or something if Johns really wanted a parallel to the GL Corps. Thank God the GLC isn't called the Hal Jordan Corps or the Guy Gardner Corps.

With Ion gone from Kyle as an additional power source, I fail to see why Parallax would be so interested in infesting him...its like once the Spectre left Hal, Parallax had no real interest in him. It seems as if he needs a soul and a power source to 'hold himself in place' as he put it. Seems a little overly complicated, if you ask me. Things are getting crowded under the skin.

The weird shark face bit doesn't work for me, either. Hal only took that appearance when he was aggressive. And clearly the fear thing stresses humanoid forms, they all get white streaked hair.

They weren't and aren't powered by Ion. They're powered by the Central Power Battery, which looks like a giant green lantern. Ion wasn't even "born" until Jade and Kyle's powers mixed inside of Kyle.

Which, it just occurs to me, makes Jade Ion's father and Kyle Ion's mother.

Inasmuch as I'm understanding this latest retcon, the idea is for Ion to more or less, well, parallel Parallax, as a being who's always existed as an embodiment of willpower, except we're only just finding this out now for some reason which may or may not at some point be explained. But I kind of half pay attention to this sort of thing so I could be getting it wrong.

In any case, the Sinestro Corps doesn't draw its power directly from Parallax any more than the GL Corps draws its power directly from Ion. I think they even have their own yellow-power-battery thing.

I'm pretty sure the "experiment" they were referring to was Ion, to see if the two kinds of energy mixing inside a living host would create a willpower parallel to Parallax. I don't think the implication was ever that Ion always existed.

No, the Sinestro Corps' rings don't draw energy directly from Parallax, but the Yellow Lantern Corps sounds crappy.

That's pretty much what I'm saying, Yellow Lantern Corps sounds stupid, and Parallax Corps sounds even more stupid. Sinestro Corps sounds actually kind of cool, or possibly just cool relative to the other two options, so they might as well go with that.

Plus Sinestro would probably just kill them all if they tried to call it something else.
