I haven't watched any of the sequels to either of these but I enjoy the first films as cheesy entertainment.

Sy-Fy's probably the one that commissioned it. Their darts hit Lake Placid, Anaconda and versus on the random **** dartboard they use to produce movies.

I want them to bring Jon Voight back for this. I don't care if he supposedly died in Anaconda. The snake spit him out because it couldn't handle the epic performance it had just swallowed.

Both were entertainingly cheesy, but I'm going with Anaconda. Lake Placid had Oliver Platt, but Anaconda had Jon Voight and Ice Cube both being awesome.

Anaconda had the better sequels, even if the last two direct to DVD films were crap. Never saw the Lake Placid sequels, but none of them looked good. I will watch this though.

Someone needs to post the picture of an anaconda/python (don't remember which, sue me) that had a alligator/croc (see previous statement) bursting out of it after the snake tried to consume the other reptile. This was some years back in Florida, unsurprising on many levels, I know.

I have to go with Placid on this because even when I do an impression of Voight's horrible "spanish accent" I'm still doing a better accent than him. Plus that black jaguar puppet. Plus Eric Stoltz going missing for half the film. Plus ripping off the ending of Jaws at the start of the film with Machete. Plus...
