Lationo Review reviews Wolverine script

hope this doesn't spoil anything for anyone but it looks like all the members of
team x(kestrel(john wraith), sabretooth, maverick(agentzero) and silverfox)
are going to be in the movie. i hope that this will be the shooting script.

when the hell did maverick change his code name to agent zero? i haven't been reading comics for a while.

Contrary to popular belief, FOX don't screw up every film they get their hands on. I've enjoyed many a FOX film.

It'll come down to not letting Fox and Avi interfere....and all about letting Jackman get a GOOD director and not some hack....

I just don't like the bone claws because it messes with the continuity of the trilogy...

It's been HEAVILY implied that the claws were part of the experiment, and that he wasn't born with them;

"You were an animal then, you're an animal now. I just gave you claws."

"I have no doubt that your amnesia, your adamantium skeleton, your claws, are somehow all related..."

Plus the flashback scene in X2 of Wolverine running out of the Weapon X facility, looking at his claws, and screaming in a "What have you done to me!!" type of way.

And then there's Lady Deathstrike, who obviously had adamantium implanted as claws, which implies that Stryker has a thing for implanting mutants with adamantium skeletons and claws.

Weapon X reformed and sent Sabretooth to recruit Maverick. Mav refused, Sabes then beat him near death, and drug him back to Weapon X, and they said "join us or die". So he said ok with the intent to destroy them from the inside. They upgraded him, basically making him a Wolverine killer (they added a corrosive to his energy blast that nullifies healing factors, he makes no sound and has no scent), and he demanded a new handle, as everyone thought Sabes had killed Maverick. So he became Agent Zero.

For more details, check the Agent Zero wikipedia bio, it's quite detailed.

Just that the script never implied Creed was part of Weapons X... just a terminator hunting mutants??? Can someone clear that up for me?

every one is the comic universe thought the claws were from the weapon x experiment unit he got his adamantium ripped out. as for the "what have u dun to me" he had no memory of his life b4 he woke up on tht table so he wuldnt remeba his claws or the fact he is a mutant.

and for the " i gave u claws" culd b a metaphor, an im willing to ignore it, or put it dwn as a metaphor

It sounds like he's working for Stryker. He tried to recruit Logan using Creed as an excuse, and when that didn't work, he had Creed kill his girlfriend to get him mad enough to "volunteer" for the Weapon X experiment...which leads to the rest of the creepy things that happen, and worse.

They should release it at Christmas. :p

Ya thanks... that makes sense... I guess this plot will suffice for me after all...

See, have faith. :) It all fits quite nicely when you to work out the whole thing. Definitely sounds nastier than just having him kidnapped like he was in the comics.

It's just that if Creed is working for Stryker, why would he want Logan and him to fight each other if they are all part of the same *team*... I'm just curious to find out what Styker's intentions are... act 2 can't come soon enough...

Because he wants logan on his side, and he will do it by any means nessecary. Creed is a good way to get him to join up, and if they wipe his memory, he wouldn't really remember anyway.

he doesn't. he wants to use wolverine as a weapon. stryker saying that he can get revenge on sabretooth is all part of the plan. he has no intention on letting them beat the crap out of each other. he's just using wolverine's thirst for revenge so that he can put him through the procedure and manipulate him. how do you get someone to do what you want them to do? lie to them.

yeah i agree, he probably uses that as a set up in order to mind wipe and brainwash wolverine.

Ya but I thought the script says they only get their memories swiped at the end... plus there is a final battle between the two so Stryker ****s up somewhere... maybe Wolverine finds out the truth about Stryker and turns against everyone still alive on the team... but he fails and then gets his brain swiped... still doesn't make sense to me... why would they swipe his brain in the first place if everyone on the team ends up dead... or at least most of em... unless the team is still together to setup future flicks? We just have to play the waiting game

It just said they show it being done, it doesn't necessarily happen in the end.

Anyone notice the whole thing has been taken down? Guess that answers any doubt that it was legit.

I'm guessing that was the intention from the start. Stryker doesn't want him as a weapon, he wants him as his weapon. Remember, he hates mutants...as long as they can be controlled, as he said in X2. His plan sounds like tricking Wolverine into joining him, then wiping out his memory and basically making into a weapon with no independent thought of his own.

Obviously, he ultimately manages to underestimate Wolverine's healing power, since we all know it ends with Wolverine becoming conscious and going beserk on everyone--with his new weapons Stryker gave him being used against them.

Should be interesting to see how Stryker manages to escape. It's also in line with what he did to Nightcrawler in X2: program him to attack the president, then step in to make it look like all mutants are dangerous so he can attack the school and wipe out the rest of them.

i just hope logan is called weapon x. i always thought that dept. H gave him the name wolverine. it was weird to see stryker say "wolverine" in x2. if he was the one who "perfected" the adamantium bonding process and used it on logan, why would he call logan by a name he would get after he escaped from weapon x?

does anyone think that mutant 143 (jason "stryker") will be the one wiping these memories?

i think its a good way to keep wolverine clueless of what he's programmed to do. like he does a covert op and gets his memory erased afterwards so he's not a liability. how do you know everyone dies? i don't think wolverine vs sabretooth will be the final battle between them. that battle is inevitable. sab is the luthor to wolvs' superman. they are ultimate enemies. is there another script review that divulges more details? the one i read didn't say anything about a final bout, everyone dying, and getting their memories wiped at the end.

Well, according to X2, the story goes back at least 15 years ("What's it been, 15 years? You haven't aged a day."), and Magneto tells Xavier "And you think taking in the Wolverine will make up for your failure with Stryker's son?"

That might put it around the time Xavier failed with Jason...it's definitely possible.

And if it does, that sounds like a possible Patrick Stewart cameo.

Did you notice that Stryker and Magneto are the only characters who do call him Wolverine in the 3 movies? Beast calls him that once, but just because he's familiar with his file.

The leaked script mentioned that Silver Fox mentions something about wolverines...maybe he takes/is given the name when he goes into Weapon X. It does seen he "volunteered" to avenge her death.

x2? they said it in x-men where prof x says " its been almost 15 years hasn't it? living from day to day, moving from place to place, with no memory of who or WHAT you are."

note: yes i do remember stryker saying that in x2. just saying that it was established before.

Right...so it's definitely 15 years ago. And leaves it even more open for Xavier to make some sort of appearance, possibly.

i hope not. but i remember someone saying that one of the x-men might make an appearance or have a role in the wolvie movie. i thought it would be rogue but since its a prequel of sorts xavier has a chance.

It would be too early for Rogue--she was just a kid when they met in the bar. But I can see the Professor or Magneto (since he has a spinoff planned as well) figuring into it somehow.
