I dont understand it, the movie originally kind of came and went financially and wasnt really a big box office smash but had a huge following afterwards on dvd over the past 10 years. So are they remaking this in hopes that it will hit big and lead to a new franchise? If so thats just an idiotic way of thinking. Instead of the 10-20 million the studio is gonna spend to have this made why dont they give me the money and Ill quit my job and crank out about 20 million original ideas for them because clearly they are out of them.
This isnt hard studio execs, create original ideas and stop trying to redo someone elses hard work from before you arrived. Were getting remakes now less then 10 years old and some are still so fresh you dont know if theyve been recieved as classics yet. Just leave the past alone, I dont need or ever asked for remakes of :
The karate kid
Nightmare on elm street
Halloween
Friday the 13th
Prom night
Total recall
The wicker man
The wolfman
Footloose
The list goes on. Im sick of people with millions to blow redoing the past how they see fit. The problem is they remake great old films and dress them up with crap and the younger dumber kids today eat it up like there instant classics. Is it too hard to have a year in hollywood where there isnt a single remake or one talked about being done?
