logans lustful advances

Nah. She was just flirting with Logan.

Wasn't their conversation in X-Men: United, when the two of them were underneath the Blackbird and Logan was trying to kiss her, go something like this?

Jean :"Girls always flirt with the bad guys. But we go home with the good guy. Scott's the good guy."
Logan : "I can be the good guy."
Jean : "Gee, not only are you full of yourself, you're also delusional."

Well...maybe NOT that last line hehehe :D

Jean: I love him....
Logan: Do you?

Jean: The girl always flirts with the dangerous guy, Logan. But they marry the good guy.
Logan: I could be the good guy.
Jean: Logan, the good guy stick arou... *Interrupted by kissing*

Another thing that puzzles me. Maybe I'm an old fashioned person, but if Jean loves Scott how come she flirts with Logan?

Nah I don't believe horndog Logan had anything to do with it.
I think it was probably a combination of her using Cerebro and the effects of Magneto's machine... If it wasn't Magneto's machine alone that did it.

Why couldn't Jean flirt? She's a mutant, not some block of ice.

Pure animal attraction.

To take a couple lines from Ultimate X-Men #4:

Jean: "-- I really, really wish we'd never met you."
Wolverine: "So how come you find me so attractive?"
Jean: *bites lip* "I wish I knew."
And then Wolverine bends her back and kisses her.

So she feels pure true love towards Scott and animal attraction towards Logan? That sounds odd.................

Lust and Love are two very different four-letter words, Decay. :D

Jean flirts with Logan because their is no other Guy at the school her age and it feels different and she never been hit on before....Decay:If Jean was alive and Scott was dead,She will be a Widow for the rest of her life..

But still...she still has the attraction going on...

Okay, first I want to respond to the original question proposed in this thread. I think your observation is an astute one. I myself have often wondered if it was not Logan's presence that helped begin the breakdown of Jean's mental defenses, and I think that it works well with the plot to believe that it was, though I do not believe it was the only contributing factor. Jean was already suppressing so much, and when Logan came onto the scene, I believe that her need to suppress her attraction to him was overload. I also think that her usage of Cerebro contributed to her eventual breakdown, not to mention her extreme use of her powers at the end of X2.

However, I must disagree with the idea that Logan sparked merely a lust in Jean Grey. It is far more believable to interpret her attraction to him as emotional as well as physical, no matter how much some of you may dislike it. Jean fell in love with two men, and that's why the crisis. She knows she should go with Scott, because she's already engaged to him and because he's the smart, sensible choice. But I believe, no matter what the rest of you say, that Jean really fell in love with Logan, and that, if she had met Logan before Scott, Logan is the one she would've chosen.

And I must disagree. Firstly, there has been ZERO indication that Jean loves Logan - in fact, Zak Penn has stated publically that the script was written specifically in a way that Jean showed ZERO love (the romantic kind) for Logan. Do a search and you should be able to find the interview somewhere.

Secondly, Jean never made any passes on Logan except after her Phoenix persona manifested. And I know you may not agree with the following argument, but there is strong, irrefutable evidence that suggests Jean was not sane and that the Phoenix in no way, shape or form represented Jean's deepest desires/loves.

-pets the kitty cat as he reads the posts- aww tis okay. not everyone heals as fast as Logan does... not even Jean...not me not Scott not Mr. Scott either... -purrs- suddenly, I feel an emptyness in my heart for Logan....that I don't reallly feel sorry for him at all. Maybe the whole Jean and Scott relationship is taking its toll on me. Cause thats whom I feel for... and I feel sorry for Scott and the way things have turned. It should have been the other way around...where Logan is assumed dead and Scott goes to Alkali Lake to find Jean unconcious on the ground and then he and Storm take her back to the mansion...then Jean wakes up and finds a kitty cat in her face...haha. lol. ... heh.

That's how I saw it in the movies. I agree. Was it just me, or did Jean kiss Logan back, just a little, in X-2? (Or it might have been my imagination...lol) I think if she had met Logan first, he would have been the one she would go for. And this is the movie we're talking about here, so please, no "But that's not how it was in the comics!"

Jean didn't fall in love with logan...Even Hugh Jackman kept saying Wolverines in love with Jean but those feeling are Unrequited....

Yeah Jackman kept sayin that in the interview on the hype a few weeks ago, meaning he just going after something he can't...Jean only loves Cyke..Its seems thats it not jean that in love with two men...its the other way around they are in love with her and she chooses one of them...

I agree/I think at first it may have been lust but as time progressed on it turned into something much deeper. I think that if she had met Logan before Scott she would have chosen Logan. Plus Logan would have changed for her. Like when she said "the good guy sticks around". If that's who he had to become to be with her, a "good guy", he would have done it.

Logan doesn't have the ability to stick around ANYWHERE for a long period of time for anyone. Sometimes its faith sometimes its buy choice. That is one aspect of him that was kept faithful from the books. He left at the end of X1 and X2 by choice.

If he did, and was sooo into Jean and she him, why did he leave at the end of the first movie?

And why did Jean let him, if she was sooo in love with him? And uh..$64,000 Why didn't she leave Scott for him, if she loved him so much?

It was made clear in x3 that she didn't love him, only Scott. And as someone's signature said (can't remember who) she chose a death with Scott over a life with Logan.

Wolverine changing for her? Doubtful. Hours later, Wolverine ran off on his own at the Weapon X facility. I think that was the point of keeping the camera on her face for her reaction when it happened.

I second that. He SAYS he'll change for her, but does he. NOPE he's pattern behavior remains the same.

I know that. I'm just saying looking back at his actions in the films, it appears as if he doesn't change at all. He just says that he will...(Like no woman, myself included, has heard that line before)
