Looking For The ONE

Oh, I love it.

Action packed? I wouldn't say so. It's a Noir-style mystery first and foremost. The amount of villains does distract from Batman's own characterization a bit, IMO, but overall, it succeeds as a plot-driven piece.
wow sounds like a blast...all these great books!!!
You sure? It's probably the best Joker story out there (tied with Man Who Laughs).

I'd get the torrent for now if you're putting off buying The Killing Joke deluxe next year. I heard the hardcover has a bunch of special features.
ya imma hold off and prolly do like u said and get the torrent...thanks for the heads up

The ONLY graphic novel I would recommend staying away from is "I, Joker".

It's just f'd up...seriously.

Well, its an Elseworlds story, so I mean going into it you know you're going to see something bizzare. But, seriously it's just down right strange...sorry to any fans of the story out there.

But I'm curious as to what you've gotten so far Calebyourmaster...and yeah the Killing Joke has gotten crazy expensive these days.

imma prolly get the long halloween

I'm a lil depressed...i cannot find The Killing Joke for under 30 bucks...

you're kidding... I got a brand new reprint a about a year and a half ago for only 10 bucks australian (thats just under the cost of two regular comics here)

man, yeah they must be planning some sort of super ultra edition so they're not reprinting it for a while. bummer.

I figured I would help some people out. Here's a download link for the very difficult and expensive "The Man Who Laughs." Enjoy guys. To view the pages, you have to open it under Windows Picture or Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Or download this program. It works great:

I also have the Killing Joke if anyone wants it.

Ok... I Got The Long Halloween....
I must say...it was Incredible....That and Spider-Man Saga Of The Alien Costume are Defenitly my Favorite Comic Book Storys

TLH is good, but if you do want something a little more Joker-centric and don't want to track down The Killing Joke or Man Who Laughs, I'd recommend Batman: Secrets or Arkham Asylum. Also, I wouldn't cancel out The Dark Knight Returns at all-it's an amazing read. The Joker in it is also one of the darkest ones ever put to print. DC also put out an anthology of the Greatest Joker Stories Ever.

thanks for the help man...imma prolly get one or both of those books u named

Try and get the Spirit Batman story by Darwyn Cooke and Loeb if you enjoyed TLH, you love this!

ok so i have arkham asylum...TLH and Year One...im looking at Dark Victory...and Dark Knight Returns...but...is there any others that come to mind..?...anything spooky...or mysterious...?

I finally read Batman: The Man Who Laughs, thanks to Carmine Falcone, and it's absolutely brilliant. Fantastic!

I LOVE it.

Just get the Alan Moore DC Universe TPB. That way, you get The Killing Joke, plus quite a few other extremely good stories.

Killing Joke is one the THE Joker stories even if you're in the camp that totally disregards the "bad day" origin. Take CConns advice and buy the Alan Moore DC Universe tpb. Or just PM War Party. But I re-read TKJ alot and the artwork is great, very detailed - you really should be able to hold this book in your hands.

Otherwise, you should probably get Dark Knight Returns next up. And The Cult isn't really spooky, but it's weird and trippy and funny.
