Contrary to rumours that not only was a sequel in the works, but that Jason Behr ("Roswell") had been mentioned as a possible Affleck/Murdock proxy, an insider confirmed for us, several days back, that there's no such film, and at this stage, they're [FOX] not planning to visit the worlds of "Elektra" or "Daredevil" again anytime soon. Sequels to both films "were in the early development stages", at the time of each film's initial release, but were abandoned shortly after.

New Regency/Fox has like no time left on their rights. The more the better that go back to Marvel opening up the doors for crossovers and cameo's big time!

DDC was a bit better but man Affleck just has to go away. I know there's a group that like him but he's not the future of the franchise.

But I'm not interest in cameo nor crossover. DD is cool when he is in his own realistic and dark world

When the rights for DD & Elektra go back to Marvel, they need to reboot both franchises. Fans won't mind, and the general public didn't pay much attention to either film in the first place, but both deserve better. And this is coming from someone who enjoyed the director's cut of DD. I'd love to see Rodriguez & Miller take over both properties for Marvel.

I say just reboot DD with a new actor and have Elektra in the story. No need for another Elektra movie but a spin off TV series would be cool.

How about just Daredevil?? He doesn't need Elektra. But this is good news...I think. Because even if Marvel gets the rights back they already have alot of movies on their plate already so I can't see a Daredevil sequel happening anytime soon anyway. I suggest they go with a loosely connected sequel like Superman Returns did. Keep some things connected and just forget others.

If Incredible Hulk is going to be a sequel to Hulk, I bet that a Daredevil movie by Marvel is going to be a sequel the original Daredevil.

^ I'd honestly rather see a TV series on HBO on Elektra. A rated R series with high produciton values (for TV) done right would do more for Elektra fans than a film.

Well actually in all honesty I don't see Elektra working on her own. Especially after that ****ty theatrical debut for the general public. While the character is good I just don't see her as enough of a moneymaker.

I agree 100%. Maybe in 5-10 years they could retry it but in a hard core "R" rated violent action flick...as it should be. Female Punisher sort of. Elektra needs a rest for sure.

Well yeah considering I thought the script was ready to go a long time ago and they don't even have a shooting script ready. Hope it doesn't go standstill like Hulk did.

I'd rather Punisher get delayed further so that the rights revert to Marvel on that one as well. We already have enough movies slated through 2008 now. As long as we're talking about 2009 and beyond, I'd like to see everything done through Marvel Studios. This DD news is good. Seeing as how the "sequel" will launch like 7 years after the original movie, and most likely won't star Afflek, I think a relaunch is a must.
