Marvel gets back Punisher & Blade ??

which would make no sense because all Marvel has to do is wait them out and the rights revert back to them.
Fox is moving on Daredevil. They are taking their time because they know if it doesnt do well this time it never will.

Fox just has to have a DD project "in development" to fulfill the license terms. Its been "in development" forever. They may make one eventually, but right now they are just slow playing it to keep the rights.

Great news for Marvel. Maybe they can get tv series for both Blade and Punisher going, preferably on networks like HBO, Starz, and Showtime.

They hired a writer and director and they're working on it...

Just because they are using Johnny Blaze doesn't mean they can't use Danny Ketch, right?

I believe the Ghost Rider rights include his universe of characters, including Ketch, who is prominent in GR's mythos. But idk, Ketch is still Ghost Rider too.

When does Marvel get back the rights to it's characters. Surely it can't be a case of if the studio keeps making new movies every few years then they can keep them for eternity. Surely there is a length of time stipulated when the contracts will expire? I remember something about this in the press release when Sony got Spider-Man, i recall 20 years but this was over 10 years ago.

Now that Marvel have Blade, Punisher and the Hulk back these are the remaining ones i believe:

Sony:

Spider-Man

Fox:

X-Men
Fantastic Four
Daredevil
Ghost Rider
Elektra

Lions Gate:

Man-Thing
Ghost Rider is at Sony. They might have gotten Man-Thing back, too.

What about the Fantastic Four rights?
Loki i right now just filling the void for Marvel's greatest villain

Yes Dr. Doom really does need to be at Marvel Studios just as badly as the Fantastic Four needs to be at Disney. Seems like they were custom made for Disney.

I hope you're not saying they should be done in cgi or computer

Disney really hasnt put their marks on a Marvel movie yet..........we have to wait & see if it gets better or not.

If it's at Pixar, I don't think it even needs to be a period film because they would have enough material to do right by it (mentally deletes any record of Cars 2). It might feel redundant to see them handle it in CGI after they already did The Incredibles though but depending on how Ghost Protocol turns out, maybe it will be a cool idea for someone to throw Brad Bird at a live-action FF.

Ghost Rider is with Sony.

I highly doubt Lions Gate still has the rights to Man-Thing.

I'd still like to see Fox drop it, which would allow Marvel to develop its own Born Again movie, also possibly allow Kingpin to be used in the Spider-Man films.. (though it should be made clear that Sony only is licensing the character, Marvel should still have him available for a Daredevil project).

..Not sure how Man Thing would be done again, if ever, unless as a background character in a Dr. Strange film..

Any ideas of what another Blade movie should be about?

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say it will be about Blade killing vampires who want to take over the world.

I have an idea for a Blade movie...its pretty much an adaptation of Yojimbo where he causes these two warring vampire clans to kill each other off

A sequel to Blade: Trinity (don't ignore it, don't mention it).

Blade will go to New York to fight Morbius, the Living Vampire (a bad guy 'cause he's a vampire but also a good guy, you know the story).

Whistler is dies. Nightstalkers aren't in the movie. If they want to add a sidekick to Blade go with "Frank Drake". I'd like to see also Quincy Harker and Rachel Van Helsing.

Or Jamal Afari in a flash-back.

The 70s introduced some neat horror titles to Marvel that were able to have the right athmosphere of a good horror film:

Afte Marvel successfully introduces their cosmic properties i hope they will do the same with their horror ones

Punisher: War Zone deserved a sequel, even if it didn't need one. I love that movie: one of the greatest pure action flicks of the last couple of decades. It's really a shame everybody treats it as this bomb, because while it may not have lit up the box office, it really earns the title of "cult classic".

I'm annoyed with the possibility that Marvel is intent on doing something different again with The Punisher. They want to do a TV series, I'm fine, though not enthusiastic. But let's really hope they don't do another cinematic reboot of The Punisher, because if none of the first three attempts satisfied them, they should really just give it a rest. In my mind, the third time was the charm, but clearly executives (and audiences) disagreed.

I have that same opinion, whith the 2nd film:

It was in my opinion perfect for him, had an interesting character, good actors, took inspiration from the comics, felt like a 80s and 90s action revenge flick, actually had a good pacing, and the ending was able to give an end to the film but also left a window open for sequels.

If this was not enough the only person i think could do better is none other than Quentin Tarantino :awesome:

I feel like if both movies had been combined we'd have the perfect punisher movie.

The reason people didn't like PWZ is because it's was a badly written and acted movie.
