Yep. I think only Mandarin and Farsi are more difficult among mainstream languages.

Mandarin grammar is easy as hell, but it's so difficult to differentiate between the four tones unless you grow up listening to it.

I can still understand most conversational Mandarin, but forget about writing it.

So I just watched The Lone Ranger, not a bad movie at all. I mean its no great cinema, but I wasn't expecting a great piece of cinema. Just a fun/funny movie. It may help I only half watched it.

Most of my debate tactics come down to saying "Did not... Nuh-uh!" a lot. It usually works until the other person goes "Did so... Uh-huh!"


By the way that pretty much sums up the level of debate when it comes to MOS.

I've actually had arguments for both sides before on similar topics. I got very weird looks during them.

Mind you I'm not being serious for either side but I do try to see all sides while I'm arguing.

I like to argue too, but this guy's actually getting me angry. 9/11 trutherism is one of those things that sets me off. I shouldn't let it get to me, but... ugh.

One of the topics I debated once was "Due to overpopulation when should cannibalism be considered acceptable?" I decided I'd go three routes. 1) It's acceptable only when to other food source is available and it is a life or death situation as seen in several situations like those soccer players that crashed on the mountain years back 2) Should overpopulation hit a certain level and food sources do run low it should be acceptable at that time to do so as needed to supplement existing food sources as long as wholesale murder/genocide was not acceptable. 3) It's acceptable at any given time in any situation as long as it's not outright murder.

I was asked to stop before I could hit point 3 but after I explained it. Apparently some people don't like to think about those things too much.
