I so miss being a teen in the Poconos and going out to Wilson and seeing a matinee for less than $6. This was in the 90's mind you.

Whatever you say, DS! You're such a cool guy!!

On the topic of excessive prices at the theater, I totally agree they are a bit ridiculous. Also, to top it off, the trip to the theater can be crappy, especially if there are annoying people present.

Remember though, pirates are stealing all the movie profits instead of ticket prices keeping people away. Or not.

Matinee at a good theater around here is $7...I usually go during matinees but I also stay and theater hop to the next movie.

I like the early shows because there are usually less people. It always feels awkward to me now to be in a theater that is more than a quarter full. :( Most times we have the place to ourselves. Bad for business I suppose but good for Squeeks.

I think if it's a horror movie or one of the big tent pole films like Cap or X-Men, I want to be in a big crowd that knows when it's appropriate to laugh/scream/or talk for that matter. But for the most part, I'm with you, I like a less than a half empty screen.

The less people in the theater the better for me. It decreases the chance that some dumb asses will talk on their phone, or chomp on their popcorn, or loudly drink from their straws.

I prefer to have the theatre mostly to myself...

I went to watch DOFP three times the second time I went it was great all by myself no babies crying, no woman screaming and no frikin teenagers not shutting up.

When I went to see Quantum of Solace the theater was full. The guy behind me must have eaten some kind of garlic, meaty pizza bomb or some such. He was belching up the fumes from hell the whole time. Misery, pure misery. :(
