Last Night the Lounge Saved My Life

I only care if it's a movie about that guard who cried over the death of the rancor. Now there's a story that needs telling :o

He was a young soldier in the Clone Wars. He dreamed of adventures and princesses so he joined the Sepratists and got stationed on Tattoine. Out on that desolate rock on the far side of the galaxy he saw no action and never even got to fire his rifle. With the end of the war and the formation of the empire his hopes of adventure and princesses died along with the Republic. So he became really depressed and began to drink heavily and developed a gambling prpblem. This led to him crossing Jabba's path. To pay off his debts he agreed to take care of Jabba's Rancor. In that furious beast he saw a broken creature who like him only wanted to be free to roam and have adventures. They developed a mercurial friendship. Finally the man was at peace and where he felt he belonged. Then in strolled a man dressed all on black and you know the rest. Now he scours the galaxy searching for Skywalker with only revenge in his heart. The Ancient Fear rises. Bob is coming for you, Skywalker. Bolt the doors and hide your children. He will have his vengeance in this life or the next.

11th. There are two stand alone films announced. And a trilogy. Disney is treating the star wars universe like the Marvel films. They want a star wars film every year. So there will be stand alone films in between the main films . So it will be:

VII-Stand Alone film-VIII-Stand alone film-VIIII and so on and so on.

The star wars universe is as large and arguably bigger than the Marvel universe so this isn't surprising. They can tap thousands of years of history.
Hope they make new protagonists
Wonder if one of those standalones will be another prequel

One of the stand alone film is a young Han Solo film which will likely deal with how Chewie met him and owed him a life debt and it may also deal with Han's time as an Impirial Officer. And there is talk of a yoda stand alone film and a definite Bobba Fett film. Also, possibly an Obi-Wan film staring Ewan Mcgregor but that one is very much speculative at this point. He has said he would love to return to the role but they havent asked him to as far as we know.

There may also be a stand alone film set thousands of years before ANH in the Ancient Old Republic during or prior to the Sith Wars. The doors are wide open to a million possibilities at this point.

I'd be up for more Obi Wan over any Old Republic stuff...

I dont have an R2D2. Im just not cool.

Anybody else think they should just cancel Ant-Man?

As for Ant-Man, Marvel has gone radio silent after heated press reports that Adam McKay would direct and then equally heated reports a day later that he wasn’t going to do it after all. Right now, the favorite is Dodgeball and We’re The Millers helmer Rawson Thurber, but names like Nicholas Stoller and Michael Dowse also are making the rounds.

I'll direct Ant-Man.

But he has to fight a giant spider in the thrid act...

Thurber has already backed out.

And yes I think they should just cancel cause Wright is the only decent director who wants to do it. If his vision isnt to their liking then they might as well cancel cause no one else seems to want it. Its a year til release and no respectable director wants to take this mess on and potentially have the first Marvel flop on their resume.

I dont think the Marvel suits thought this all the way through.

It won't be a flop. If **** like Thor 2 can make money then anything with MARVEL branded on it will make money.

I'm kinda surprised no one wants to direct Ant-Man. Sure he is super unknown to the public, but I think someone would love to be the guy who made him a someone.

Im not so sure. People are legitimately terrified of bugs. And if Ant-man involves swarms attacking people youre gonna lose that crowd. And like Kevan has pointed out Ant-Man is a goofy mess on its on and it lacks the cuteness of someone like Rocket Raccoon. And then you add this apparent director and script revision fiasco...this is a far bigger mess than Marvel has ever dealt with...that I know of.

I think if they made it super self aware and had him acknowledge the fact that he's super unknown in the superhero world it could work really well. Have him fight leap frog or something, who is also struggling with is obscurity :hehe:
