Mystery/Thriller M. Night Shyamalan's Old

Sounds about right for an M. Night film.

Read the plot on Wikipedia.

Sounds like he pulled another Village

I wasn't going to watch this cause I assumed there was some polarizing twist coming.

Old (2021)

I really dug this aside from the last fifteen minutes. The ending felt like the psychologist scene in Psycho.

Saw this yesterday.

The ending completely ruined the whole premise.

Some atrocious editing and camera movements as well.

Not to mention, the aging concept plays completely differently for different characters in the film (one of the kids ages once in the beginning and doesn't age until the very end of the film).

Not one of Shyamalan's best, unfortunately.

It was very fun to watch, though and much better than Glass.

6/10.

I saw this yesterday and dug it. It was a fun time at the movies. Once the film gets going, I thought it was really well paced and gives you the feeling that time is moving very fast. Can totally see people groaning and complaining about the last 15 minutes, but I didn't mind it. As a film with somewhat of a fantastical hook, it's not something you want to over-analyze or over-think. Not M. Night's best film but far from his worst.

Also, I think this hit differently for me because I just had a son who is now just over 5 months old. I already feel like he is aging too fast. Had I seen this a few years ago as a younger guy, it may not have had the same effect. This film does a good enough job of tapping into the common denominator of the human experience (time) and some of our most primal fears as humans -- time moving too fast, missing out on key moments in our lives and the lives of our children, growing old, body and mind deteriorating, dying, etc.

I havent seen this but listened to an in depth review of it on one o my favorite film podcasts and holy cow this sounds like bad Shyamalan back in his prime. This sounds hilariously awful.

MC Mid-sized Sedan....lmao wut Shyamalan?

Lol fair enough, the movie sounds all sorts of crazy though and ive seen some clips and the dialogue seems ROUGH.

Saw this last night, didn’t think much I am afraid, ending was over explained to hell and the bits leading up to it we’re hit and miss also.

After this the very disappointing Glass, Split seems like a fluke rather than a come back. 5/10.

I’ve got to give Shyamalan this. Even when you thought he’d end up in director jail relegated to directing TV episodes, he reinvented himself and is still managing to tell his own - or at least adapted - stories.

I just really miss his collaborations with James Newton Howard.

I finally saw this and the premise was very interesting. Though the characters weren't really written well and I couldn't root for anyone. Also, it was like they run out of time for the last 20 minutes when they could have really amped it up.👵
