Machines will achieve human-level artificial intelligence by 2029, a leading US inventor has predicted.

Humanity is on the brink of advances that will see tiny robots implanted in people's brains to make them more intelligent said engineer Ray Kurzweil.

He said machines and humans would eventually merge through devices implanted in the body to boost intelligence and health.

"It's really part of our civilisation," Mr Kurzweil said.

"But that's not going to be an alien invasion of intelligent machines to displace us."

Time to start work on my EMP generator I guess.

Why would you want a ****ing robot implanted in your brain? Honestly. These sci-fi authors aren't just writing this **** for their health. They are warning us.

lol, why does that year sound so familiar?...

Ok, I was curious and googled 2029. I'm getting a lot of "end of the world" hits.

We've alredy invented guns, bombs, and nuclear weapons. Like this will matter!

I think it's a great idea. All a human being really needs to exist is a brain, a heart, and a central nervous system. If we could merge with computers and technology we would theoretically never die.

What's wrong with ending up like this:

Well, QM, mobility could be an issue.

Hmm... I wonder. Having Nanobots in our brains, does that mean being able to unlock the other 90% of our brains?

If we create the nanobots that can do such a thing then doesn't that mean the ability to do so was in us all along?

2029? I wonder if he really thinks it will happen then, and just didn't talk out of his ass because Kyle Reese and a T-800 (101) come from there.

:o
