Mad Max: Fury Road

Gibson is an American who lived in Australia when he was young, then moved back to the States.

He was born in New York.

Christopher Lambert was born in the states too... Doesn't make him any less french. :oldrazz:

Mel Gibson was twelve years old when his family moved to Australia.

Most kids who move to a different English-speaking country usually get teased for their accents. And a lot of them take on the local accent just to fit in; that's probably what Mel did.

Lots of actors have done that... Gillian Anderson took on a Midwest accent when her family moved from England to Michigan. Ditto for John Barrowman when his family moved from Scotland to Illinois.

Even an American actor, Alexis Denisof was able to take on a British accent when he lived in the UK for a few years after graduating from college.

Well, let's not forget that Mad Max was dubbed when it was first released in the states.

I guessing Hardy is going to do an Australian accent.

I can see Hardy having minimal dialogue like Gibson did in Mad Max 2 in which he only had 16 lines of dialogue in the entire film and two of those were "I only came for the gasoline."

My Dad moved to Australia from Finland when he was 8 but does that make him any less of an Aussie? Nope. He's as Aussie as Mel Gibson is.

Considering Mel Gibson hasn't lived in Australia for decades, I'm pretty sure these days he's considered American.

Eek, I hope not. Hardy is the main reason I'm going to see this movie.

Re-watched the original Mad Max trilogy this past weekend. Gotta admit, it's gonna be pretty hard to replace Mel, but Tom is a good actor so I'll give it a chance. Funny he's playing Max, while his Bane reminds me of Lord Humungous.

BTW, Can somebody answer this question for me ? I know the Road Warrior and Thunderdome take place after the Nuclear Apocalypse, but does " Mad Max " take place before or after ?

I think Mad Max is right before things got real ******. Considering they're policemen, the law is still around, so things have not got that out of control yet.

Going by these two pics of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's stunt double, it would appear that her character is pregnant in the film.

...and the babies seen on the back of the tanker...

...and it makes me think the plot might revolve around fertility or genetics.

I hope there isn't another one of those the baby is the choosen one type plots

Your stuff is always kick ass man. Keep up the good work!

Wait, so George Miller, the director/writer/producer of this film, was the director/writer/producer of all the other films?

No wonder you guys are so interested in this film.

Yup. Though to be honest, the only Mad Max film that I really liked was Road Warrior. But honestly, Mad Max is something I wouldn't mind getting remade. Because the first film isn't all that.

Thanks a lot for the comments! I cant wait till we get to some footage of the real deal!

i think thats charlize theron on the first pic

AMC keeps showing the trilogy and I keep watching them. Mad Max and Indiana Jones were my two favorite movie heros as a kid. I'm super excited about the new film, even though Mel isn't in it. But I trust Miller.

"Tom came to the table with a ton of ideas all based on where he wanted to take the character. We spent so much time sitting around talking about character and movement - it was fantastic. Tom didn’t like to rehearse the shorter sequences much and it proved to be a Godsend. It meant he was actually playing catch-up in the fights, as would really happen. It gave me what I always wanted for the fight scenes in this film, which was to have the choreography hidden inside what looked like a real fight and not let you see the beats. Tom is brilliant to work with; he is versatile, knowledgeable and an all-round good bloke Richard [Norton] and I had so much fun working with him and we all became great friends who will keep in touch. Tom wanted to push Max in what I feel was the right direction, so it made my life easier."

"It's the biggest action film shot in the world at one time. All the stunts are real and CGI was only used to remove the safety cables!"

- Stunt Coordinator/2nd Unit Director Guy Norris in the latest issue of Total Film magazine.

CGI was used or will be used? the movie was not finished on the set Mr. stunt coordinator. as a big car action fan i am happy that this movie will have a lot of practical effect in the desert. so yeah baby.

a good director and 6 months of pre production and you get this

The car chases in that film are amazing. Especially the first one, which is the second one in the film.
