madeline mccann one year one

Wow, it's been a year?!

It's gone very fast. It's been a strange case - lots of media, family members implicated, and even some backlash from the public because of the amount of attention it generated: I remember the official thread about it, people were sick of hearing about it :/

I still here about it on the news from time to time. I'm not sure what to think about it. Certainly something seems rotten.

There was a documentary on itv apparently they were advised to show as little emotion as possible during there appeals, they got alot flack for that.

I feel sorry for the parents, they've been through a lot.

I have no idea where to follow the story though, there is loads of conflicting evidence.

But WHY would they want to kidnap (in theory) their own daughter.

Something fishy is going on and it's not my boxer shorts.

reminds me of jon benet ramsey.

I don't know, but money might be the reason. We recently had a case in Britain about a girl which meant missing, only to find out a week later...that the step father was into child pornograghy, and the whole thing was set up to receive money. Damn lame.
But, checking your location status...I'm guessing you already know that.

I'm not sure what to make of the situation, but even if you take the parent's 'official' story...they were still guilty of child neglect. Leaving children of that age alone, in a foreign country, to go out drinking, is simply inexcusable (no matter how often you say you were checking on them, it was still long enough for one of them to go missing). Whatever happened to that little girl, it was the parents fault. I hope they find her alive and well, if only for Madeline's sake.

I knew that.

I wasn't really phased by it, it's sick but it doesn't concern me.

Parents did it, said that from day one.

When I see any interviews with the McCanns, Gerry always shows classic body language of somebody that's lying. The signs are TOO heavy for it to be nothing... he's lying about something.

I think they killed her, and covered it up. And they've gotten away with it. I don't think we'll ever learn the truth about this unfortunate case.

The media and overall public attention the case recieved was also extremely excessive.

Here we are...

Classic body language of someone that's lying through their teeth.

i do find it annoying that if you say anything like the people have said in this thread about them being in any form guilty, you get tore apart. hell they sued a newspaper for publishing the theory's on why they were suspects, when they are

Sometimes guilty people's first form of defence is attack. I'd say the heavy bombardment of media coverage would fit that statement.

Exactly.

Also, Am I the only one who read the thread title as Madeline McCann: Year One and imagined a graphic novel detailing the events written by Frank Miller? :csad:

Hell, I'd buy it.

Told from the girls point of view as she goes from mild mannered child to ass-kicking vigalante over the course of the book...

There would be some liberties taken with the plot after all.

Why do people obsess over these individual cases?
Around 2,185 kids are reported missing every day.
It's just like American Idol for you people...
"Tune in Next Week to see IF, the body is found!" *applause*

Where any of the other kids ass-kicking vigilantes?

No. And niether was this one, making my point highley irrelevant.

Go about your business.

that was the problem a lot of people had, most think it was sadly due to her being the daughter of two upper class well off doctors, if it had been a single mum form a normal middle class the media would have been calling for the parents head

You've actually hit upon something the public started to get irritated by. All of that press for one girl when there are so many that go missing and are hardly even reported.

it just seems fishy. Has there been any reports on the parents gaining any money from her insurance policy?

Might be because the father's a rich doctor, and the mother does something important too. It's a shame that just because they're upper class, they get the news attention.
Especially when I find a small, tiny article in my local newspaper about a girl that's been missing since February :down
