Alan would beat Magento by making ring constructs that looked like nazis gunning him down. And then they would pee on him. And then take him to the gas chamber. And everybody would laugh and point and say "Xorneto pwn3d, lolz-ahooty!!!!1!!1" (Benids wrote that last part).

Cut Magneto off from any metal and I'd win dressed in some wooden armor and wielding a wooden baseball bat.

I almost feel that is why this topic was created, since both characters both have a unique weakness to wood.

Of course Magneto may have a slim chance depending on their surroundings. He could always use metal objects to pick up wooden ones and use them to A. Shield himself, or B. Beat the crap out of Alan.
