This is the first thread I've ever started here...but I felt moved to take action in saving a worthwhile drama from the scrap heap of network television and thought there might be a few here who felt the same...
I'm aware that there is already a Jericho thread...and that the show is not presently on the CBS Fall Schedule...which is why I thought a new thread might generate some needed interest. Jericho was a favorite in my household and many others. It was truly one of the only reasons I ever switched on network television.
The purpose for this new thread is to get some information to other fans of the show.
There is a fanbased movement to persuade CBS to bring some closure to the story...echoing Jake's message to Newburn and saying "NUTS" to the network fans have already shipped thousands of pounds of peanuts to CBS headquarters. An online petition at petitionsonline.com has drawn almost 80,000 signatures and a response from the network!
The entertainment division issued a statement saying they are listening and willing to develop some means of telling the end of the Jericho story. I'd encourage anyone who had an interest in the story to call/email/contact the network, sign the petition and participate.
I believe CBS pulled a 'Star Trek' with Jericho in cancelling a show that still had life and development promise just as NBC did with Trek in the 60s. If you agree, join the fun of saving a good show! It worked for Trek and executives are saying publicly that they are paying attention! Who knows, like Trek fans' accomplished...it might just win interested fans a second season that many would like to see...Thanks!
