Man in China dies after three-day Internet session

What the HELL IS SO ADDICTING ABOUT THAT GAME?!

I've always wondered...could someone answer my question?

No one can show what is so addicting about it. You have to experience it for yourself.[/Morpheus]

This is a myth.

It is phsyically impossible for a man to drop dead for no reason.

It is like believing in "fan death" in Korea.

No one is saying it happened for no reason, if you don't eat or sleep for 72 hours while intently concentrating on something you stand a good chance of dying.

maybe just a little too much warcraft for this guy..

Ha! Where's the proof?

And don't tell me he didn't consume anything, because he was at the internet cafe.

this may happen to me when halo 3 comes out .

Ha? Doing things that are stressful and not sleeping do definite detriment to your health, it's a medical fact. And it's entirely possible he wasn't eating properly.

I'm sorry I wasn't there to observe and record whether he ate anything or not, but if someone is playing a computer game for dozens of hours straight it's entirely possible, and likely, they were neglecting their other needs.

And who knows, he may been drinking a lot of caffeinated drinks or something too, which can make it worse. I don't understand why you think this is so impossible. It's not like no one has died of exhaustion (exhaustion being a general term for a number of conditions that can result from stress and lack of rest) before.

BEIJING (Reuters) - A Chinese man dropped dead after playing Internet games for three consecutive days, state media said on Monday as China seeks to wean Internet addicts offline.

The man from the southern boomtown of Guangzhou, aged about 30, died on Saturday after being rushed to the hospital from the Internet cafe, local authorities were quoted by the Beijing News as saying.
"Police have ruled out the possibility of suicide," the newspaper said, adding that exhaustion was the most likely cause of death. It did not say what game he was playing.
China, worried about the spread of pornography and politically incorrect content, has banned the opening of new cybercafes this year and issued orders limiting the time Internet users can spend playing online.
In April, President Hu Jintao launched a campaign to rid the Internet of "unhealthy" content and make it a platform for Communist Party doctrine.

I was always under the assumption that their entire body just atrophied when the only thing they enjoyed stopped being fun after playing it for 24+ consecutive hours.:oldrazz:

If you think it's not possible, by all means, please go try it yourself.

Internet Cafe's do not always serve actual, life-sustaining food. Some of them are just places where you can go and essentially rent computers on an hourly basis.
