Man Jumps From Airplane With No Parachute.

DUANESBURG, N.Y. - A 29-year-old man leaped out of a plane at 10,000 feet with a camera but no parachute Saturday. His body was found next to a house with a damaged roof, police said.

Sloan Carafello of Schenectady, who was observing on the flight, followed an instructor, student and videographer out the door, wearing no skydiving gear, officials said.
Police said they did not suspect foul play but would not elaborate.
Robert Rawlins, pilot and owner of the Duanesburg Skydiving Club, said he was flying the single-engine plane and had begun to close the door when Carafello jumped.
His body was found next to a house west of Albany.

This reminds me of a thread over on something awful about irrational fears. One alot of people seemed to have was being afraid they would just jump for no reason if they were put in a high, open space. Guess this guy proves that fear isn't so irrational.

I'm sorry, but I find the whole thing funny and/or stupid. Funny if he forgot the chute by mistake and it was a "whoops" moment, and stupid if it was on a purpose. Suicide is ok in my book (yes I just said that) But it doesn't change the fact that it's a selfish thing to do. NOt to mention how much of people's time and emotions are wasted on the aftermath.

Death as a whole is a big joke. It's gonna happen. How it happens, however, can be a wonderful story.

it's sad..but maybe he like..tripped on a shoelace or um, got a little too excited, thought he had the parachute on and uh...jumped...yeah.....
