Man of Steel vs Wonder Woman vs Aquaman

For anyone else. Give your ranks on DCEU's movies from best to worst.

For me I enjoy all 3, but still find MOS thoroughly under rated on here. Aquaman had just as many problems and nothing in it came close to the Smalleville sequence in MOS, so I would go:

1) WW
2) MOS
3) Aquaman

Personally MOS is my favorite of all 3 films, and massively underrated - I'm a Superman fan, and I rate the battle of Smallville up there with any cbm action sequence...I mean Superman does straight up Superman moves, and gets hit with a train. There were some good practical effects too e.g. the school bus rescue.

Sadly, all the stuff Snyder got right in MOS he totally forgot about when making B v S.

However, I believe that WW is the best film of the three, because Jenkins and Gal Gadot so perfectly captured the essence of the character. Gal carried that film - and making Wonder Woman likeable and warm but also tough and fearless was a big task.

Aquaman was fun but a bit long and after a while the cgi starts to get a bit tiring - kind of the same way that the sheer level of destruction at the end of MOS is a bit much.

I give MOS the best villain of the 3, and the best mentor ( Russell Crowe).

Cool. Nice to see some different opinions. What did you like the most about MoS?

I really liked the focus on Superman as a displaced alien who was simultaneously dealing with the legacy of his birth world while struggling to find acceptance in his new one.

I like them all in different ways.

WW and it’s not even close. Aquaman has great visuals and Man of Steel excellent action, but WW has both plus a better script, story, and director that brings the best out in its star.

I agree, the Battle of Smallville is the best live-action superhero battle I’ve ever seen on screen.

Wonder Woman by far. It's the only DCEU film that's both coherent and features well-rounded characters. It might have some of the weakest visuals/action of the lot, but that's not what matters most when telling a story.

Superhero movies should have lots of fun action. Thats what most people want. Story heavy cape**** plots are too boring.

Wonder Woman was the better movie, but I enjoyed Aquaman a lot more. Aquaman was the first and only DCEU film that I didn't feel Zach Snyder's finger prints all over. Wonder Woman still used that annoying slow down action sequence shot that was even an old worn out trick when he used it in 300.

Man of Steel would be good to me if it wasn't for two crucial things... The third act and Pa Kent's death.

Wonder Woman was hampered by the inconsistent characterization of Wondy in BvS. Her solo film did some quality damage control, but Aquaman didn't have to deal with the lack of backstory that Gal Gadot admitted she was presented with when she accepted the role.

I'd say Man of Steel and Aquaman are similarly messy. The difference... Man of Steel doesn't know it so much, and Aquaman doesn't care so much.

Wonder Woman is easily the best. Good script, standout performances from Gal and Chris, and a captivating atmosphere.

I'd probably say Aquaman and MoS are tied for me. The former is more fun but stumbles in terms of characterization and dialogue. The latter is genuinely moving at times but makes some HUGE missteps (Pa Kent's death, Superman not being proactive, the destruction porn at the end).
