Haven't seen the film yet, but I have to ask if there's something at the end that could lead up for a sequel. You don't have to go into details :)

I know that "Z" stands for zombies. But what about a follow up about another kind of supernatural beings attacking our world in a similar manner? An army of mumies? Or werewolves?
It could even be a stand-alone film, with other characters. With a big star in the lead of course, just as this one. Maybe Johnny Depp playing a straight role, or Tom Cruise?
Just a crazy idea of mine! :)

Definately getting this on BD, loved this movie, loved the book as well, finally finished it a couple of weeks ago.

There's definitely room for a sequel.

^Easily, and I would love it if they used more sequences from the book as well. There were some sequences in the book which would look amazing in a movie.

How is James Badge Dale in this.
He's a soldier that gets bit and kills himself, but I hear people say he was great in this

I wanted to see this, just never got around to it.

Over the course of the summer, I've come to recognize just how great an actor Badge Dale is. He played in three summer blockbusters and was a totally different character in all of them; just unrecognizable.

Check out Rubicon sometime, it only lasted one season but was pretty great for most of it. Fully sold me on James Badge Dale.

As others have said it was a small role, but he did well with it. I havent seen in anything before IM3, but he was good in both that and his small role in WWZ.

Wow of all the films, this is the one that doesn't have an extended cut? All I heard about the production was that they filmed a cut a LOT of stuff and none of this is making the bluray?

I really really enjoyed this but am surprised we are just getting the standard theatrical version.

Not really much was cut or at least what we have heard, its just the new ending that made the headlines

What should possible sequels be called?
World War Y
World War X
World War Q
??

Why would those be options? Z stands for zombies, I'm sure they'll stick with that.

They are making an Unrated Cut.

I really loved this movie and its awesome to see it doing so well

^Especially when it was fully expected to be one of the flops of the summer. I went to see it just on the off chance though and ended up really liking it.

I'm glad, its an enjoyable movie and one I wasnt expecting to enjoy but I liked it, and then read the book which was great.

Who at the start of the year though would have predicted this doing so well and Pacific Rim struggling?

Pacific Rim is actually Guillermo del Toro's most successful movie. Maybe you don't give a director an over $100 million budget when he has yet to release a movie that's gotten over that amount.

^Interesting stuff, maybe they thought relativity might be a factor in that if they give him more to spend his movie will make more? In a way they were right :cwink:.

It's a gamble that didn't pay off.
For every Chris Nolan there is GDT.
Granted Chris did get a franchise whereas GDT built something from scratch.
But at the end of the day GDT just didn't have the same luck.
Anyway going back to the topic , WWZ definately is the surprise of the summer. No one expected the movie to do well.
I still am curious just how much control Marc Foster had and or how much the studio changed.

Sounded like it he had quite a bit of control. If the studio had control that original awful ending would still be in it since it cost so much to.change it. I think ultimately the studio probably listened to Pitt more than Foster. Or they just all agreed on stuff. I don't think it was as messy as the rumors made it sound
