I really don't get what this supposed clean slate means, to have someone else just going through the same as the first movie would echo the book, but seem redundant after the way the first movie ended.

This sounds like it will be another "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" type of thing, where it's basically the same movie as the first one, only with a different actor going through all the same crap.

*crosses fingers* that this clean slate means they're the classic Romero/Walking Dead zombies this time and not the running and jumping through the air adrenaline infused zombies.

And they still need to get Greg Nicotero or Tom Savini involved with the make up and zombie effects.

I watched the film not long ago, then read the book, I have no idea why they didn't just follow the documentary style of the book. Perhaps that's what the sequel could be.
