Mark Millar's Many Thoughts On Superman

Simply....it may be the right thing to do for Supes overall. IMO, Singer painted himself in a corner by making Superman a whiny, unreliant jerk of a super hero. Still, I'm not totally sure of a re-start with the origin. I agree that it's pretty well known.

I don't think we need a re-telling of the origin. Maybe just a few flashbacks. Everyone knows where Superman is from.

I don't see a problem with him being a vegetarian in the comics but I don't think his diet should be brought up in the films. Soul vision is a bit too much.

Soul vision was a big part of the story. Notice I didn't really mention the vegatarian stuff. That was just a by-product of the soul vision any way. The point is that BR hinged on Superman HAVING soul vision. I"m not totally convinced that a story based on BR would be any good without the soul vision.

I think Superman has a lot of powers already...Soul-vision is just too much...I cant understand what a fan he is and still makes some ridiculous change to Superman. Superman for all seasons to me is the definitive origin story.

Christopher Reeve may have been an awsome guy but he never made a good Superman for me

sorry but that's just my opinion Routh wasn't very good either, Welling is okay but i'm not sure if he could play Superman in a movie

I was j/k but man you are the first person I've heard say say they didn't like Reeve.

Was there a Superman you did like?

well i guess i'm just picky i think Welling is okay in Smallville but i haven't seen anyone else besides Reeve, Routh and Welling. If they coultd find someone like Christian Bale or Robert Downey Jr. that matches the character perfectly that would be awsome

Ha!!!!

DEAN CAIN IS SUPERMAN!!! :cwink:

I thought Routh was middle ground between Cain and Reeve and that was VERY NICE IMO.

He didn't need the spit curl....his hair was already super...lol. Though, seriously, I agree with SuperDaniel. Routh was good middle ground, but Reeve made the role. You are like the only one I've met who doesn't think he was a good Superman.

I know the guy will never get a chance, but i'd love to see what Michael Trucco could do with the role.

Not sure if this has been posted, but someone called Archangel is posting in the comments field on the home page news for the Kurtzman/orci interview...

They were never doing MOS and said so in an interview two days after that rumor was posted at IESB. It was a ploy to get people thinking about MOS which is DEAD. Not gonna happen. WB has 4 different reboot pitches to think about between now and December.

Asked how they knew this, Archangel answered:

Because I'm on the writing team of one and was informed of competition just before Millar made his announcement. Subsequent phone calls revealed a current total of 4 pending pitches and possibly more. It seems WB is actively looking for a reboot now which we didn't expect, but they aren't commenting making it more frustrating. We thought it was just us Vs. Singer but were wrong. Singer is done already and is looking for a way to save face.

And asked for story details, Archangel said:

I'll give you a few tidbits...
1. Film starts with Clark as Superman
2. Villains are Metallo and Brainiac
3. Lex has nothing to do with real estate investing.
4. It's certainly no love story.
Someone managed to take pics of storyboard sketches of our project last weekend during our artist's family reunion and emailed them before getting caught so I'd expect them to pop up on the net soon. Not too happy about it, but what we can do. At least we'll get some feedback on how good it looks so far.

:wow::wow::wow::wow::wow:

What do you all think?

I think it's the owner of SaveSuperman.com trying to spread word of his Superman reboot.

Great. More contradictory rumours...

The adventure continues :whatever:

I don' think that's true, though I'll be happy if it is.
