Mark Wahlberg to Star in Contraband

The movie definitely looked ugly as hell but I dug the story and acting.

It all came down at the 3rd act when random unnecessary **** happened for no good reason.

And why didn't ANYONE DIE?!

Not even one crew member! They could've added an emotional punch to the story if the married guy got killed in that SWAT ambush.

And Ben Foster's character...what happened to him?! Never resolved. His character or Giovanni Ribisi's character should have died. It's almost like neither of them were in any real danger.

Yeah! Felt like a crappy Disney movie.

No, at least Disney movies KILL PEOPLE.

I knew this was a stinker when they decided to use a song with Lil Wayne on it for their t.v spots.

Oh and it looking absolutely terrible. That helped.

I guess I was the only one who liked it, while I didn't love it, it was an okay film.

I liked it too, it just lost control in the last act. Solid January release, but could've been dealt with better as far as the conclusion went.

I saw this Friday and I didn't really like it. From the trailers I thought this was gonna be a action packed thriller movie. It wasn't ,there was barely any action scenes at all. It was more a a crime drama without the action. It wasn't a really bad movie but I was definitely disapointed 6/10 for me.

In Contraband Mark Wahlberg is Chris Farraday,a retired smuggler pulled back in to the world of smuggling when his brother in law dumps some drugs into the sea he was bringing to sleazy, greasy drug dealer Tim Briggs(Giovanni Ribisi).Chris will have to get the loot for the drugs and pay off Briggs or his brother in law will become just a memory.
Mark Wahlberg is one of the best things about the film, very believable as a family man who will do anything to protect his family
Ribisi is not believable as an intimidating drug dealer, sure he has the sleazy thing down, and i did laugh at his nasally threats as he orders people about. But everyone including Kate Beckinsale as Kate Farraday looks like they can break him in two.
Huge plot holes and predictable turns aside Contraband still manages to be entertaining with colorful characters and cool one liners, and near misses.
Catch it on DVD or cable
Scale of 1-10 a 7½
