Here's part of the article I found interesting:

The samples are being examined for traces of organic molecules, among other substances, but the lander does not have instruments that could directly detect life.

Well what good is this mission for then?!

lame. we always knew there was ice on Mars. and other planets. plus, we've sent those 2 rovers a few years ago to analyze the surface of the planet.
there is no "significant" life on Mars!

This happened in another thread too. Why do people think the main goal, let alone any sort of intent, of astronomy is to find aliens? The only reason it even comes up is because if they don't tell newspapers something about Martians they won't publish a story.
