I actually thought DKR was an amazing story even though I'm not a huge Bats fan Anubis.

Most people do im in the minority it just wasn't my cup of tea. Nothing wrong with enjoying it.

Just finished DKR this evening.

I can't believe this was written in 1986.Let's face it,with Batman stories, things have a good chance of getting predictable. Not the case here.I was hooked on every page until the very end.Kudos to Miller for this. The story really made me care for Bats and what he was trying to do.

Next up...Year One.

Batman:Year One didn't grab me at first but by the time I was done I was blown away. Good books ...

As someone else mentioned, JSA: The Golden Age is a great read it has some great twists And also Green Arrow Longbow Hunter's is also one of my personal favorites. It's a really dark and gritty story.

Then you should give Batman Year One a try as well. It was written by Frank Miller also.

History of Violence is way better than the movie if you like that sourda thing

I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but there's this comic from Image called Invincible. It's good.

Oh, and I'd like to recommend Invicible, from Image. Nobody ever talks about that book.

DC fanboys help me out,if there is anything out there as powerful and interesting as KC let me know please.

ROTDK I just started.I'm halfway through the 1st chapter and I am very impressed so far.

I'll update when I'm done reading it.

Powerful and interesting? As a comic book? On the level of KC?

Read Alan Moore. His more complex stuff (Watchmen, Miracleman, V for Vendetta) have blown some minds. But I wouldn't recommend these to someone who just got his feet wet in comics.

The easier Alan Moore stuff to get into are his ABC stuff and of course his famous run on Supreme. If you love Superman and comic books in general... get his Supreme run. I'd also say to get his smaller DC stories collected on paperback (Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?, For the Man who has everything and his Green Lantern runs)

all this talk of Watchmen and Maus, you know what no body ever recomends... Invincible. Seriously, people should get out there more... Wait, did I miss something

Lol. I feel deprived... haha.

:)

I missed Invincible's first run. I've started to read just with the latest issue.

Maus isn't a blow-your-mind type of comic for me. It generated a lot of critical appeal by non-comic readers, but it isn't the type of comic book that makes you want more... :)

Get the Hardcovers. You get like the entire series up to issue 25 in those. And they're much cheaper than trying to track down the individual issues.

What he said. All joking aside, this board is like a breeding ground for Invincible ****es... and i'm proud to be one :D

GNR, jump on Justice right now. IMO, it's close to KC levels of quality.

why would he enjoy them, Stealth? you didn't tell him anything about them,

Good point, Elijya....thanks.

Suggested Readings:

Elseworlds: The Golden Age

recommend this because it has a good twist to telling the Golden Age's heroes without making them look 'campy' or weak....you'll actually find someone to relate too when you read this book, and either rejoice or mourn to what happens at the end of the book.

The Watchmen

this was good, because it didn't need the use of the DC 'Trinity' or any other owned DC character....there's no reference to a JL, TT, JSA, ANYTHING. All it does is focus on a mysterious Rorchack character who is a detective but is ANYTHING but normal.

Crisis on Infinite Earths
The most controversial series ever to involve EVERY SINGLE DC character from the golden age to the present (1980s); where an Earth dies (several) actually and the death of Supergirl and BArry Allen (the Flash) takes place. And the remaining Earths merge.
-a must read before reading Infinite Crisis-

Green Lantern Emerald Twilight
Four words for you:

ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTLY!
-If you enjoy Quasar or Captain mar-vell in Marvel...just imagine them as a member of a galactic police organization and one of their best turns evil.

Enjoy.....and hope you like some of them.

Kinda a look at how the League used to be like in the world of KC. At least thats the way I see it. Super Friends only a lot more badass.

I don't think anyone can imply fact. God himself would have a hard time implying that.

I hate the Super Friends. It single handedly lead to the percived Lameness of Aquaman. The writers of that show should be beaten to death with metal pipes in front of their children.

The latest JLA: Classified didn't exactly help the cause. He spent the entire story crying about fire.
