Guys, stupid question. Is Jean and Magneto only available for money?

I've been playing for free.
 
Magneto, yes. Phoenix you get when Beast, Cyclops, Rogue and Storm are Tier 2.

it's as cb just told you. well sorry beast isn't needed for jean you need cyclops Rogue storn magneto & wolerine

You need crystals to unlock Magneto, which can be purchased but can also be earned. It will take you a while to earn them, but you can do it without spending money. And it will take time to level up the characters needed for Jean to 6 Stars and Full Mastery anyway.

When the X-Men patch was announced I had about 2,000 crystals. I broke 5,000 last night, and that's after I bought the Homecoming uniform earlier in the month so otherwise I'd be a lot closer to that 6,600.

As I mentioned in an earlier post above, there's several ways to get crystals without spending money. Timeline battle rewards, daily log-in bonuses, every time you level up a character to level 50, and 60. You can purchase Stark's Stash for like under 5 bucks which gives you over 2,000 crystals but at a rate of 75 a day for a month.

Also keep in mind when you spend the 6,600 to unlock Magneto you get access to rewards you wouldn't of had otherwise and eventually 1,500 crystals back as rewards for the Magneto mission you will unlock.

Ha I'm fairly new to this game. I have a ton of heroes now. Trying to farm red stones and trying to get Mordo to 4 stars.

Bit of a grind.
 
I've been playing off and on since Age of Ultron came out. Sometimes I won't touch it for weeks or months but then I'll get pulled back in like Pacino in Godfather III.

You're on the right track working towards that Dr. Strange Epic Quest, that character wrecks. Bit you'll want to prioritize certain characters to get them to Tier 2 for World Boss and Shadowland, the only game modes where you can earn Norn Stones of Chaos. I just got my first T2 characters about a week ago? T2 Spider-Man with his new Homecoming outfit is amazing, I have beat teams in Timeline Battle that would have wiped me out instantly before.

It may be helpful to level up the Item Shop in the SHIELD Lab too. If you have a lot of gold you can buy Rift Debris and Norn Stones there to save energy for farming biometrics.

Try and figure out the Hot Time events for your time zone as well, typically 3 hours in the AM and again in the PM. Increased character XP and decreased energy cost.

Well I got sucked back into this game the last month or so, just converted an Xmas gift card into iTunes money to get that pack too recently. Mags seems a bit cool but mostly just wanted that stage for the extra materials to rank Cable faster, talk about a long grind. The age of apocalypse Cyke uniform is actually what got me back on, always dug the look and that comic in general.

T2 cyclops with that ctp of energy melts faces!

For anyone not keeping up with this particular news; Marvel is currently commemorating the Fantastic Four Week and, during their Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Week livestream today, the publisher has announced that the Fantastic Four will be making their return to Marvel Games.

In order to celebrate the occasion, Marvel will be releasing four new Fantastic Four variant covers for the upcoming issues of Marvel's First Family — each representing one of the games the Fantastic Four will be joining now that they're back at Marvel Games: Marvel Contest of Champions, Marvel Future Fight, Marvel Puzzle Quest, and Marvel Strike Force.

It's great to see that the Fantastic Four are finally getting the attention they deserve, even to the point of ; especially after being completely neglected by Marvel due to the whole movie rights dilemma with 20th Century Fox. The good news don't stop there since some Fantastic Four-related content will also be making its way into Marvel's Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4, so there's a lot more things for fans of Marvel's First Family to look forward in the coming days.

Anyone here still play this? I have a question about accessing my current account on a new phone but don't want to type out the entire problem or situation unless someone thinks they might be able to help.
 
I play it and just made a phone switch back in December so perhaps I can help?

Well I think I shot myself in the foot on this one. Like a fool I ran through the tutorial on my new phone and instead of hitting "settings" and synching my FB and or email (even GooglePlay) i foolishly made a new username thinking I could then go in and select my original account. Sadly it synched to my FB and I think I'm stuck. I still have access to my original character account on my old phone but with that provider service turned off I would only be able to play where there is free wifi I guess. Ugh, this sucks especially because I have spent money on this game.

I even tried on my old phone synching my original to a new FB and Email I created but that didn't work either because when I went to my new phone and went to settings during the tutorial (uninstalled and reinstalled the game of course) it still only pulled up the new character account as an option to synch/load.
