Wouls they have been part of the mainstream Marvel Universe (616) or an alternate reality?

Well the thing I'd love to see is Darkseid vs Thanos the full fight no holds barred I suppose Thanos would actually get to talk to death more often since in the DC sandman comics she has a physical form. Of course that opens up a huge can of worms, would Pietro be able to use the speedforce? Would Sentry be from Krypton? Would Spider-man have become a green lantern instead of getting the captain universe powers? you get the idea. It's an interesting concept though.

One thing that would really interest me is Aquaman and Namor fighting over control of the Ocean.

I suppose it would come down to who the people decide would be King. I mean if DC was absorbed into Marvel then how would the regular folks react? The atlanteans would have doubled thier population and would be torn between two kings. I imagine Aquaman and Namor would just split the oceans between them. Although who gets atlantis would be a big fight.

I think that would be out of the blue since Marvel went bankrupt a few years back.

Well, it would have been in the 70s, so a lot of stuff you know from character now hadn't been in place in their 70s versions of the characters.

Mainly I think most of them would't have been used.

It would just be like when WWF bought WCW, lack of competiton would have caused the product to be washed down and people wanting to see their product would have to do with tiny scraps of it in the Marvel books. Since Marvel would make the point that "their" product was superior and the DC characters were more of a fail experiment.

Meh. The deal was every character was up for sale except Superman and Batman.

That's like buying a McDonald's franchise, but not having any Big Macs or Quarter Pounders to sell.

At any rate, who knows how it all would have played out? Would Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern be Avengers, or would Marvel have just kept the DC universe as a totally seperate publishing division?

I wish we could read an interview with one of Marvel's big wigs at the time, so we could really know what the thought process was.

If Marvel bought DC, we as fans would see no difference. It would be like Time Warner and AOL merging. They would have the same parent company but operations wise would be different companies.

Acquisitions like these only make a difference to stockholders.

Lois starts acting like a ***** to Clark, then she supposedly dies in an exploding air plane because she's 'aging' the Clark Kent / Superman character.

The Joker would pluck out Batman's eye and force him to be reborn into a totemic bat-god who would eat the Joker's head off.

The Flash mantled would be retconned to being only ever held by Jay Garrick because 'the fans' want to see a 'swingin' speedster'.

Vandal Savage will take over a small Eastern European nation and begin amassing an army of Savage-bots, robots that eat other robots. The Red Tornado's habit of being blown up is replaced by getting eaten every few months forcing Justice League members to go "OMG! You ate Tornado!", "You bastards!".

Everytime Ion does anything, even so much as burp, draw something, or eat some chili fries... THE INTERNET WILL BREAK IN HALF!

Zatana will speak a phrase that shakes the DCU for at least 8 - 10 months before they start getting bored with it.... "SATEM EROM ON"

considering in order for MARVEL to buy Dc comics, they would need to buy Warner Brothers.....you know they own Dc comics and stuff. so all Marvel has to do is buy a multi-billion dollar movie/media compnay and try not to file for bankrupcy yet again.

I'd imagine we'd see Bruce Wayne in the Illuminati, Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel rubbing elbows with Thor and Hercules. The Flash and Spider-Man would have a bit of a time together.
Marvel would never be so dumb as to just sit on these DC characters like some people are saying.

I think they would have kept them operating as two seperate companies.I think the main thing is there would be a lot more crossovers between companies.

Who liked the Marvel Dc crossover or the Justice League Avengers crossover?

They wouldn't have to buy Warner Brothers, DC is owned ny WB, so WB couldv'e just sold DC to Marvel.

Why would Marvel have to buy all of WB, which would include characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck?
