And make their own take on it, not with origin or anything like that, but something that could feel more as the spidey of the comics, even thoug i really liked the first two raimis films, i want for the future a different thing, freshier, i dunno if call it reboot, just marvels take, three fun spidey flicks with that sense of a hole marvel universe going on as the first movie the studio released and has plans to grow on that direction. I guess this has already been brought up, anyways i dunno how the legal things are going but if marvel were to renew the contracts to sony, if that time is now, spidey will compite with their movies..

I was hoping they would to , until I read sony renewed the rights , full article over at latinoreview.com

Business doesn't work that way, buddy. Marvel Studios will probably never get Spidey back.

It's like having a machine that makes money, never fails.

well, they just need to not renew the contracts, and make the movie their own, and they will make tons of money anyway that way..

Once Sony ****s up the franchise like WB did with Batman they'll give it up. Then Marvel can take over with the clone saga and/or New Avengers.

Everyone saying Marvel should just take back their franchises doesn't understand business. They can't do that. They have contracts to honor, whether Marvel or fans like it or not. FOX can extend their X-Men rights with spin-offs until eternity practically, same with FF (though evidence seems to point towards them being less likely to do that), Sony has I think 3 more Spider-Man films.

I must also say Iron Man was awesome, but Marvel only does 2 films a year from the Marvel studio. Since they are dedicated to the Avengers, any property they get back would be on the backburner. So, a Marvel FF movie is years away (even if they get the rights back in 2012), X-Men probably stays at FOX, DD may be back at Marvel, but is not a high priority at this time. Granted, Marvel would make a Spidey movie RIGHT after getting the rights back, but Sony still has about 3 movies, so that is years away.

In short, Spidey is with Sony for a while. Marvel won't have him back anytime soon. Deal with it, that's just the way business works. We wouldn't have Marvel studios if it wasn't for optioned properties like Spider-Man anyway.

of course they have contracts, BUT they can always renew them or NOT when they end the period they have signed for... even sell it to another studio that puts more money in there..

You're right, but doing this for Spidey is moot right now because the contract won't expire anytime soon. Why bother discussing it?

i think they renew it recently, wich in my opinion, it´s not what would i have wanted, more now that Marvel took off pretty strongly at the bo with their first incursion alone, that is why i wanted to hear what other people thought.

Exactly, the same can be said for the X-Men franchise. People need to stop with these idiotic threads of Marvel getting back Spidey/X-Men's movie rights.

Sony would buy the whole freakin Marvel Studios before they let the Spider-man franchise go...
It generates WAAAAAAY too much money. for them to give it up. thats why they green lit spiderman 4 5 and 6 before negotiations with the film crew have been made....movies dont usually get that kind of go for it.

from Video games to toys. to cups to halloween costumes.
and the movies make alot of profit for them also. seeing that all of them has held a box office record.

Ok, now that we are done saying whats happening with the franchise, and what is not going to happen according the business lords weve got here we can do what a forum is all abot, wich is to write our opinions, i dont get alway those vibes. Im simply saying that i would like that spiey, my fav character of marvel by far, could get that treatment, that sense that he shares the same universe with other characters, something planned in a different more opened way, and of course gwtting a spidey whos got the personality of the comics and cartoons,i feel like getting a new crew and cast, would bring new takes, and that is what i feel is needed, coz continuing the same, after third one, would not be interesting or fun to me, the 3d was awful sadly. Sorry im on the iphone and is going pretty slow

which is pretty much why we've all been discussing this...:whatever:

Agree that I'd love to see a Marvel studios Spider-Man film.

The Sony films are god awful.

Is this going to be Iron Man's legacy just like the whole "reboot" thing was Batman Begins.

I'm sick of this already. Despite the fact that it isn't going to happen. So far they have only made one film. I think people need to at least wait until the hulk is released to start saying that Marvel studios can do no wrong anyway.

Well, at least someone gets it.

Fanboys and purists seem to think that because they don't like something, it should magically change to their will, the poor idiots. It's never about the geeks with the closet full of comic books, it's about the 2.4 Billion and those who flock to see the films in record numbers. While you fools are yelling do it like Iron Man, Marvel is busy signing the papers for more Spider-Man films to be made by Sony, lol.

SM2 imho is the best superhero movie ever commited to film so if that's aweful what's good?

Marvel getting the rights back doesn't have any guarantees, despite ironman being such a huge success. Personally, I think we need to lok at the fact that marvel studios is just like any other movie studio and can easily fall victim to making a not so good movie. Will they rely on the comics source material? Sure but which ones? The spidey comics have been consistently hit and miss for slightly over 20 years. Sony isn't the problem, here. To ensure that better spidey movies get made, we just need better and a more committed talent force on the fronts of acting, screenplay and directing.

I'd feel better if Marvel had the rights, just because.:woot:

The SM films are so bland, boring and just nothing. They're more like Spiderman-lite...

Pretty much the way I feel about PG-13 comic book movies in general, don't forget to throw in the word...generic. Yes, this includes BB, IM, X2 and SM2.

It boils down to nothing more than opinion, people grab their favorite comic book film, hold on to it for dear life, and claim everything in existance should be like it. Personally, I think all of them suffer from the overhype and overrated syndrome.

The only way the rights to the Spider-Man films will revert to Marvel is if Sony decides not to renew their contracts. And the only way that will happen is when the franchise is no longer profitable.

It would be great if Marvel could get all the rights back for Spiderman and every other Marvel Superhero because then there could be some really Awsome Spin-Off Movies:word:
But this will not happen in the near future.

Oh dear lord, i do hope so!! After Iron man i have so much faith in the studio...unless The new hulk totally bombs, i'll be in good spirits...
