Another thing that crazy is we're about to get a Captain America movie in a couple weeks, and the sequel is already getting lined up and prepped for a 2016 release. While WB on the other hand have dragged this out pretty long and still don't have things fully in order for their 2016 release. Interesting to see how both studios are running this schedule.

So we're getting Captain America, Batman vs. Superman, and X-Men: Apocalypse all in one month?

Yeah... someone's gonna move. Probably Marvel a week ahead.

It's kind of refreshing to see which posters make SHH a total displeasure to be a part of all in one thread. Another sad day to be a fan of anything.

But... regardless....

There's NO WAY in hell these two movies are being released on the same day. They don't come out for another two years, and you guys really think they WON'T move any dates? :funny:

Marvel will do the smart thing and steer waaaaay clear of this. I'll put my life savings on it.

I'm sure one of them will move, oh yeah.
And I don't care which one it is. Either way it won't be a sign of "cowardice" like some fanboys would see it as. The studios just wouldn't want their profits to be cut down.
I'm hoping BvS doesn't get pushed even further back. We will have waited long enough

Warner Bros should move.

Marvel had that date first.

You snooze, you lose.

So they own the date? :funny:

That's how big a company Disney is now. They own a month. When May comes, we all have to pay them royalties if we want to keep breathing.

What was the main reason for it being pushed back an entire year anyway? Was it casting? The script being written?

I think it was the script, and if those rumors about BvS being filmed back-to-back with Justice League are true, then having to get that film ready is probably the main reason

With Wonder Woman being cast in the movie I was pretty confident a JLA movie would be soon to follow.

Does DC have to worry about any licencing garbage with their characters like Marvel has to?

Not that i know of, they only make their oun problems with the whole Bat embargo that prevented various Batman characters from apearing in the Justice League Cartoon.

No WB/DC own and can use any characters in the DC universe.

Sure they did.

They had the date for a movie with no title, no script, no director, no cast, and no crew.

And Green Lantern proved that you don't need all five in the end.

Why should they move if they planned ahead and chose the right date long before WB?

I hope they stay where they are. Teach all the "date thieves" a lesson they'll never forget.

this post sums it up perfectly they had sweet f**k all.

They seem to have respected one another in the past with their movie releases, I wonder why now is different? DC/WB did have to move back an entire year because of internal issues. They had a chance to choose a date that wasn't on/around Marvels film which they very well knew of. Not trying to be a hater, but when you look at it subjectively it could of been easily avoided, and seems like it could be some sort of power play by DC.

How do you know they had none of those things?

Just because they didn't announce everything right away to the public?

They probably also already know the script and director for Dr. Strange and Thor 3. They map out each phase far in advance.

Do you expect anything that's not iron man or avengers to compete that well with a movie featuring batman and superman together?

Considering it's going to be a terrible film, yeah. It'll do well, but at the end of the day it's still the same 2 characters DC puts out over and over again.

I just hope the Batman VS Superman is a huge success so that WB/DC can gain some traction & start cranking out more movies based on DC characters.

It'll just be more movies of Bat and Supes, It's all they know.

Let's say the movie turns out to be Captain America 3, as currently rumored. They just announced that the Russo Brothers were returning a couple of weeks ago.

Doctor Strange is still shopping around for a director, last I heard from the trades.
