300. I still really like the original Venom from when he was done right

Loved how they introduced Venom and he's still one of my favorite bad guys from the 90's. 400 was great but then they ruined it by bringing her back and never letting her die.

300.

I'm thinking that May sold her soul to Mephisto just to spite Peter because she found out he was Spider-Man and he let Ben die so she made the deal that she would never die and live only to **** with Peter for the rest of his life. Mephisto thought it was hilarious and let her keep her soul only if she made his life hell. So far so good.

ASM 500. The renumbered issue.........though it meant well had some of the most WTF moments I've seen. Why was Dr. Doom crying when 911 happened when he has done far worse and the USA isn't even his country? I will say the Captain America moment was kind of touching.

I liked the 9/11 issue. It was the right response to the events and it came at the right time to do such a response (if there is a "right time"). The controversial stuff with the villains, I feel was more artistic license as opposed to the villains actually being there. I feel like they were included to push home the "all of Marvel Comics is mourning" point. It was just handled clunkily.

That said, I vote ASM 500. It's a weird story, true, but as a retrospective anniversary issue, it works beautifully. The part where Peter nearly gives up after failing to save Gwen a second time was as heart-wrenching as the first time. Probably the last time I've seen a recognizable Spider-Man in comics too.

Spiderman the 9/11 issue!
Thats why i dig marvel. they didnt have to do that.they could have totally avoided to do anything with 9/11 and the tragic occurrences that happen that day.Marvel being who they are and never to shy away from real-life decided to show all these great beings with great powers tackling very real world life! to show that with all that great power, they are still very insignificant and who true heroes are!A moral tale that at the end of the day we are all just mortal and to be humbled!
stuff like that is why you can MAKE MINE MARVEL!

Make yours Marvel but yet you have a DC avatar. Make up your mind. :whatever:

That was just their slogan in good ole days!i dont believe one should be constrained into society's box!Dont you?that whole I am a DC, image, Marvel thing is just a label put on us to conform and have differences!:o

... plus people hate that super-friend's show and it was one of the few superhero shows with one of the few Afrocentric heroes! my 1st book was a marvel!dont take everything so literally..thats why you are psychopath walking and talking!.. you "Docstarr the living bombblast" you!

500, nostalgia trips always get me.

500.

The 9/11 issue was just really awkward. I understand the meaning behind it and why it was done but the whole thing was just kinda messy.

You made a wise choice saving issue 600 for a match up against 700.
I choose Amazing 600, for the following reasons:
  • John Romita jr > Humberto Ramos (I like Ramos art, nothing against it.)
  • Issue 600 is fun, issue 700 is depressing, enjoyable, but depressing.
  • I don't really like that kind of mind abuse/mentality trade.
  • Human Torch guest appearance, and a nice ticked Wolverine joke.
  • Reasonable thing to happen to Ock. Less reasonable than his death, but it is reasonable.
  • Fun Jameson & Parker moments.
#500. I still want a jacket like future-Spidey's.
His jacket reminds me of the Rocketeer's jacket.

I choose ASM 700, because it was full of suspense, and the ending was really moving. A pity the art was horrendous.
