Marvel Zombies!

the art is awesome indeed... but the reason i pick it up is because zombies are awesome. one of the most awesome things ever, in fact. and now superhero zombies? what a sweet concept!

Checked out the latest issue. No doubt the power add-ons will allow them to survive against Galactus(Although i'd like to see a full page shot of all of them getting vaporised) Speculation on what will happen?

1.Zombies manage to bring down Galactus(Get under his armor and eat him from the inside out perhaps) They procede to eat him and gain Galactus's powers. They then finish off BP and Magneto's acolytes and any survivors. Two possible paths have them going into space to eat the rest of the MU, or remembering about the portal Magneto destroyed and punching through to the Ultimate universe.

2.Stalemate. Lots of urban renewal but neither can win. Perhaps some discussion and the zombies tag along with Galactus to act as heralds(Visit new worlds and eat them.)

I for one think while the zombies are fight Galactus the acolytes will go to the ultimate unverse and free zombie reed and he will make an ultimate nullifire. To save the earth from Galactus from eating it. Thus leaving an opening for a marvel zombies 2.

Reed is the only one smart enough to make the dimensional gateway.

Correct. However,Z-Sentry was able to punch through dimensions to get to the current MU. If the zombies do end up getting some of Galactus's powers, it's very likely that they could do some D-hopping. Iron Man and Giant Man are smart enough IMO to pull it off(And with Galactus's corpse keeping them fed, they will keep their wits about them.)
There is a thread about MZ over at Something Awful, and someone brought up a good post about how they'd like to see more non-zombie heros and villians. A off-his-rocker Juggernaut who wanders by every so often to swipe food. The zombies mob him, but he just squishes a few before leaving would of been a cool idea IMO.

I think a very confused Carnage would be very appropriate. wasn't he basically a flesh eating monster before?

also, Mr. Immortal. the man who cannot die. I imagine the GLA has him tied down and are just ripping chunks out of him.

You know what i just bought this book and you know what. Its nowhere near as good as any of you are say it is. I totally bought into it. but them eating the silver surfer is totally ridiculous. I mean hulk bit off his head which i understand but, you still can't eat his gg skin i mean hulk didn't even peel back his skin. Now they're going to fight Galactus get the **** out of here. Also what the hell is hulk even infected or thor or anyone we know is immune to diseases(wolverine people come on) and how are they so damn intelligent? Your a got damn zombie there shouldn't even be dialogue. How the hell is cap even talking with half got damn brain?! Ok I feel better. I want my money back :(

In retrospec maybe i should've just taken the book for what it is.

I agree with what you said

But I just flipped though the books on the stand, and no money wasted

So you feel that all zombies HAVE to be mindless monsters driven ONLY by the desire for flesh. they can't talk or have feelings or interactions?

and why doesn't anyone think about the idea that perhaps this "Virus" wasn't something medical, but rather something super-natural. I mean, c'mon. It seems pretty obvious to me since eating the silver surfer gave them power cosmic that something metaphysical has to be at work here. also since Janet is just a head, she technically can't talk (You need a diaphram and vocal cords, which she lacks). something super natural is going on.

Marvel Zombies couldn't happen in the DC universe:

1. Invulnerability is more clear cut. Getting past Supermans polymorphic forcefield? Being fast enough to catch the flashes?

2. Too many magic users and heroes who would disintegrate the undead.

3. Energy manips would have fried anything headed their way.

Oh,.. and biting off the head of someone who I've watched let the hulk tire himself out on?

Sigh.

Yes. Yes I do. They're subhuman.... no they're undead. That shouldn't even need an explanation. That whole book should be grunts and those are the ones with brain matter left.

That still wouldn't make sense. You can't talk you don't have a body. I understand magic its not supposed to make sense but, i found that ridiculous. It reminds of an older exiles book where they went to the world where all the heroes were vampires. I don't remember liking that too much either. Although cap made a good vampire.

Yeah i was actually uncomfortable with that but, i can at least accept that. I mean all surfer really had to do was fly really fast really high and blast everybody hulk shouldn't have been a problem seeing as Ult.Thing knocked his ass silly which I found really stupid too.

All in all i'm not taking this serious or anything its just a mini anyways. Bascically i went in thinking it was gonna be good like i've been told so i buy the books i found myself completely disappointed and looking for an explanation.

Kiu, I think you're just too narrow minded. Zombies are people too. (Boy that felt weird to say)

This is a different take on Zombies than has been done before and frankly I really like it.

Fair enough, maybe i went into the book way too seriously.... when i meant subhuman i meant more like not human. Thats just my take on zombies they're not supposed to be their former selves anymore they have no spirits they're walking impulses and urges to feed only. Yeah this is a new take on zombies and maybe i should've just taken it for what is maybe i would've liked the book more.

These aren't your romero-esque Zombies you were expecting. I like this breed of Zombie. they're scarier.

I actually liked this kind of Zombie. Being intelligent but still trying to feed no matter what. But I don't like the whole super mystic Zombie stuff that is happening now.

Biting off SS's head, gaining his powers, Jane still "alive" despite being just a head and the fact that even characters like the Ghost Rider are infected (he's just a skeleton on fire goddamnit).

You guys are putting WAY to much thought into this simple premise

Like I said above. Not to be taken seriously. Although I don't agree with it. I just expected big things thats all.

Speaking of Supernatural, where's Zombie (or not-zombie) Doctor Strange?

I missed MZ#1 and didn't notice him in 2, 3 or 4...

Could he possibly be a way the Marvel Zombies would travel out of this realm?

Anyway, new here, but just bought the Marvel Zombie comics sans 1. It's a gimmick, pure and simple. If you're looking for anything else in it, you're not going to find it... it's just something fun for people that might want a break and something different to read. That's exactly the reason I bought it, and I love it. It's a really fun read. My ONLY qualm is that they killed off too many zombies with the Silver Surfer's Powers (you know, when they tried to cook them?). It's cool to have the six now and whatever villains are apparently left, but really, I'd loved to have seen the whole slew of Zombies like before... they could have kept the possibilities going for so long with that.

Oh well... still good. Can't wait to see what happens to Galactus. And hello.

He was seen in Ultimate Fantastic Four getting crushed by a car I think.

I think this book is hilarious and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. I am curious what happens when the FF Zombies break out in the Ultimate FF book. I think this was a cool idea and I'm glad someone thought it up. At first I thought it would be dumb but now I am glad I decided to pick this up. :)

What I don't understand is why the Zombie FF seem to be so clearly evil. Sure once the hunger gets them they act like any normal Zombie, craving for flesh. But as seen in Marvel Zombies #1 they regain their senses once they've eaten enough.

Hank Pym even kept the Black Panther hidden and ate him slowly to keep his head clear while working on a cure. So why isn't someone as brilliant like Mr. Fantastic trying to do the same?

I have no idea. But i think a cure would ultimately kill them since ya know they're already dead. How funny. Book makes no sense.

Maybe he never found someone he could imprison like Pym did. Right now Mr. Fantastic is locked up at the Baxter building. Again, I wonder what he'll be like when they get out. Maybe he'll eat someone and find the cure, assuming he could even get back to that dimension before Galactus eats it. :)

That's why it's fun. LOL.

Well the Zombie FF are now the Ult. Fearsome Four. Bad thing is they can't be around for to long cause from the preview they have decomposed further.
