Anyone reading this? Sort of interesting giving a lead in and some background to the movie.

I've read the first issue since it eas free. Migjt read the Paperback when it comes out, but I quit reading new comics a while ago, so I definatly skip the single issues.

When does the second one get released? I looked for it on my app but I couldn't find it. I really liked the first issue.

The second issue is out now, but good luck finding it on Marvel's site. I bought it through comixology.com.

The series is very enjoyable because it solidly links all of the Marvel movies in a coherent timeline. I like seeing how Fury, Coulson and SHIELD found themselves almost overrun with all the metahuman activity that occurred virtually at once. It would have been nice to have a fuller sense of that in the movies, although of course Fury and Coulson made mention of other problems in Iron Man 2. Hopefully as the series progresses they will flesh out Captain America's "unthawing" as we didn't see that in the film.

Do they hint at other metahumans already active besides the film Avengers?

Now knowing that it all happened around the same time, I love the line where fury says to stark that he has bigger problems in the southwest

The issue this week is pretty Thor-oriented. It is pretty cool to see that all of this happened during one week.

This is my first series i've ever bought as a Digital comic from the app, really enjoying them, especially how they connect all the films together. I enjoyed this weeks with Stark and Natasha starring.

Reading this, there DOES seem to be more to Coulson than they're letting on....

Yes. It's interesting that Coulson [BLACKOUT]flagged the atmospheric anomalies in New Mexico as the signs of a forming Einstein-Rosen Bridge even before Jane and Selvig recognized it. He obviously knows a lot more about the phenomenon that Fury or his subordinates do. He knows as much as the astrophysicists, even. And was there an implication that Coulson knew the wormhole led to Asgard?[/BLACKOUT]

All very intriguing. Perhaps there's something to those cosmic rumors after all.

Also, does he just make a straight leap to the top of the back of that vehicle?

You're right about that! Coulson looks like he's floating in midair there. The scene was so busy, with other agents drawn in below Coulson, that I missed his levitation trick. Coulson is grasping an adjacent truck, but he's clearly over six feet off the ground without a visible means of having gotten there. Notice that none of the other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are looking up at him.

Does anyone know of the name of the newest issue? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

It's called The Avengers Prelude: Fury's Big Week: Chapter Three. I bought it on comixology.com. I have no idea where else it's available.

Coulson must know something about Asgard. In Thor, he wanted to let Thor grab the hammer, he was expecting Thor to appear, just didn't know how he would look.
My guess, Shield did some poking after they found out where red skull found the cosmic cube

Plus, if shield has had the cube for that long...you would figure that they know a bunch more than they have revealed.

I just read issue 4. I'm really liking this series so far. It really straightens out the timeline rather clearly. It also finally shows all those behind the scene S.H.I.E.L.D. machinations that we have all speculated about. There's also a nice little reference to the Coulson "Funny Thing..." short. Great issue.

Fourth issue came out; it definitely fleshes out some of the other films:

Apparently, it was Clint that told Coulson that he should let Thor go in order to learn more about him after having seen Jane run away from the site.

Also, apparently Natasha was actually present on Culver Campus when Banner Hulked out.

I just can't help but think of all those cheesy, 80's teen comedies when I read this title.

I'm still leaning towards Coulson being Vision. Even Clark Gregg's facial features resemble the comic book representation of Vision.

Does Coulson have to be anybody else but Coulson? He's awesome enough as it is without having to make him a Kree or Vision or some other character posing as a SHEILD agent. But maybe that's just me.

Yeah I've been enjoying it. It's a cool behind the scenes look at the movies kinda. And helps to get an idea of the exact timeline for IM2, Thor, & TIH.

Also, I'm assuming Cap hasn't been found yet.

No, they hadn't found Cap. At the beginning of the first issue Fury and Coulson were in the Arctic searching for Cap, only to be called off by the World Security Council. They haven't gone back there yet.

You're right, Clark Gregg does resemble The Vision. But I still have hopes that he'll turn out to either be Captain Marvel or just the most badass SHIELD agent ever.
