Okay, so, we know, that The Avengers video game is going to be developed by Sega, which is already a bad sign. I mean, look, let's be honest, almost all Marvel Studios-related video games, that Sega created were bad: Iron Man - The Incredible Hulk - Iron Man 2 & even the brand new Thor: God of Thunder turned out to be another failure.

Still, there's a hope for Captain America: Super Soldier game, because it looks like pure fun & the gameplay is promising, but we will find out the truth only in July.

What do you guys expect from The Avengers video game? What would you like to see in it? Do you think it might have the potential to be a little bit better, than the game's poor successors or this one will be doomed too?

My guess is it'll be a Marvel Ultimate Alliance clone with Cap, Thor, IM, Hulk, and unlockable Hawkeye and Widow characters. (Maybe others like Vision, Ms Marvel, Black Panther unlockable too)

I don't have high hopes for this game, honestly. Sega has screwed up every Marvel game so far.

well i've been reading news on sega and marvels deal and so far i've only found mention of the games that have currently been made. sega started work on ironman and then a bit after that it was announced they'd do hulk, thor and captain america games to coincide with the films. no mention of the avengers tho.

so i wonder if that contract is up will disney leave things up to marvel studios to make a deal. or use disney interactive studios.

in any case a year isn't enough time to make a good game from scratch for nearly all studios. so the end result probably wont be that good, unless it's already being worked on.

At best it will be like mua: avengers. at worst it will be like that gi joe game

I also think it will be like MUA, but less polished, with less characters, and significantly less fun.

Well, it definitely could be like MUA, since Sega is just copying the styles of some famous games into the Marvel Studios-related once. Of course, they're still doing it wrong. For example:

- Iron Man - just a crappy & boring game
- Incredible Hulk - bad clone of the astonishing & spectacular Hulk: Ultimate Destruction game
- Iron Man 2 - same as Iron Man I, but with awful graphics & terrible storyline/gameplay

- Thor: God of Thunder - pathetic clone of the successful series of God of War games.
- Captain America: Super Soldier - is an obvious Batman: Arkham Asylum clone, but it has the potential to be good, so we'll see.

I just hope it's good. Sega hasn't really bee the.....best company for superhero games as of late, IMO. Captain America: Super Soilder looks very fun though and i just hope they handle Avengers right.

The Cap game doesn't really look good to me either.

There's little to no hope for this game, sorry to say.

Sega Sucks! If it's not a Sonic game then it's for crap. The only way Sega could have pulled this off would have been to clone God of War and give us the option to play as each individual character (Cap, Thor, Hulk, Ironman, Hawkeye, Widow).

Total Cap experience! It's fun! He's really kicking butt & the gameplay, from the look of it, has a lot great stuff to offer.

I'm still hoping for Cap, but I saw an article on IGN a while back more or less outright stating they'd be surprised if it turned out to be good. Mind you they actually said that Thor looked like a better game. God knows, but I'm gonna wait for a review for Cap.

As for the Avengers I'm not sure how they'll do it. Will they give us control of all of them for separate levels or what? I guess we'll just have to wait on that one.

It's a movie tie-in video game, was anyone really expecting anything good?

Well, some games are worth it even if they're direct tie-ins (like Spider-Man 2: The Game (Xbox/PS2 versions), Wolverine Origins).

Has there been a good Marvel-movie based game since Spider-Man 2? That seems to be the peak. Was the Wolverine movie game any good?

I thought Wolverine's Revenge was a good game even though it didn't really tie in with X2 at all.

These are the exceptions, not the rule. It's like how people expected every movie to automatically be at the same level of the Dark Knight after it came out. It's stupid and setting yourself up for disappointment.

I think that game was made by Raven. Too bad they can't do the Avengers movie game.

My guess is they will copy the Ultimate Alliance style. That would at least be better than copying the icky Fantastic Four games.

Well, if Cap turns out to be one of those rare exceptions, then I'll be happy)

I sorta enjoyed the batman begins game too

What sort of surprised me is that there was no Dark Knight videogame. I mean there was Arkham Asylum eventually but that was sort of its own thing.
