Sequels Mary Elizabeth Winstead 4 Mary Jane!

Indeed.

There's something about MEW... her face looks like a fat person's who's suddenly lost a lot of weight...

I can see the denial runs deep and plentiful around here.

Look... get over yourself... you can never make guarantees in this business. Contract negotiations can break down at any minute... people move on. Tough decisions are made. Thomas Jane pretty much walked off the set of Punisher: WZ... NOTHING is guaranteed... so stop pretending Dunst is in because she is not. Sony has probably talked to her, but that in no means guarantees she'll be back. Not even Raimi and Tobey are official until we here straight from Sony's mouth that "we are thrilled to continue the Spidey franchise with Raimi/Tobey..." I don't think we have gotten a quote like that which explicitly states everyone is coming back. Things happen. That's the way it works.

Wow...just...wow. You're gonna hold on to those words til' the bitter end, eh?

So you are telling me I am completely wrong and my comments have no basis?

:whatever: What he's saying is...Visionary...Is that nothing's set in stone. Who knows. Maybe she'll hate the script, or decide she really is over Spider-Man.

I get what he's saying, he's just wrong, period.

Sam Raimi would direct these films for a box of Cracker-Jacks, he seems afraid to let anyone else near the director's chair, and Sony sees him as apart of the billions that Spidey has made thus far. Basically, Raimi is going to like whatever James Vanderbilt comes up with, in fear of another director taking the helm and easily besting his three efforts.

Maguire is being offered 50 million and goo-goo-baby time with his brat. He's not turning this deal down, 6 months, two movies, 50M dollars, plus a piece of the box office and DVDs sales--he'll walk away with 65 to 75M easy. His agent would punch his mother in the face if he turned this down, which he won't, it's easy money, too easy.

Like I said, both Tobey and Kirsten are doing these films strictly for the MONEY. Which means, Kirsten ain't turning down a 15 to 20M dollar paycheck. And Raimi isn't about to see another director come in a scorch out his flame. Neither of them will say no, although I wish they would, it's not gonna happen. I'd be shocked if it did, but at the same time pleased, because I like actors who like doing movies because they love their role and being apart of the film(s).

Visionary... you're an idiot. Dunst hasn't even gotten an offer from what we know. You are pulling that Dunst figure out of your ass. Look no further at what happened with Terrance Howard in IM2... negotiations broke down.... it came down to money. Dunst prices herself beyond Sony's liking and she'll be gone in a blink of an eye.

I agree. My hope is that they have a story worth telling over two movies and it's not an excuse to sell more toys . Dark Knight and Iron Man have raised the bar for comic book film imo, and I think they should at least give us something better then Spiderman 3 . No offense to those who liked it but , I think Raimi and co can do better .

Who the hell is Terrance Howard? Is he apart of a multi-billion dollar franchise, after starring in three films?

Let's see, Sony wanted Tobey back, and they got him. Sam Raimi will direct these movies for a dead goldfish, so you know he's back. All they have now is Kirsten, yeah, like she's gonna to be really hard to get back.

I don't know if you realize this, but Kirsten gets the second biggest check in this franchise, second to Tobey. With each film those paychecks go up not down. If Tobey is getting 50M, can 15 to 20M be out of the question for Kirsten? Let's face it, they get a lot of money that they don't deserve. And I think Sony are idiots for paying Tobey 50M (plus being apart of the box office/DVDs), that price is high-as-hell and shouldn't be to Sony's liking, but they're paying it and he's not gone in a blink of an eye--so why should Kirsten be?

Could be true, all of it. However -- while I usually completely trust Ms. Finke, and there's no reason yet to doubt industry trade The Hollywood Reporter -- everything's gone strangely, even suspiciously, very quiet since those 'leaks' regarding talks hit DHD and THR. Usually, when principles are close to a deal, and its reported by the likes of THR, you can count on it being official within days, perhaps even hours -- but with this story, it's already been a few weeks, hasn't it? And no, Dunst hasn't been mentioned as a definite by anyone, only that TPTB would like for her to return...

Sony could just be making sure all of its ducks are in a row for a big, complete cast/crew announcement.

However, could it be that someone's particular "negotiations" have hit a snag, and they might pull a Terence Howard on us? (Because who expected that one?) All 'the Fat' is saying is to not count your chickens before they're hatched, and considering the 'Don Cheadle' news today, I'd say he's right to feel that way...

Nothing is ever final until the pen hits the paper, folks...and even then sometimes things can change...

;)

Raimi & Co. could do better than both SM1 and SM2, as well, which really isn't hard to do, if your main focus isn't on how many toys can we sell while catering to kids. People keep mentioning SM1/SM2, like those movies are hard to beat in quality. I like them, but come on.

Nope, unfortunately, Sony is a bunch of slow asses when it comes to Spider-Man news.

Where are you pulling that figure? Honestly? You are estimating a random figure. And if that's what is on the table I am not sure I make that deal if I am Sony. Look Dunst will be back I am not saying that she won't. But don't come on here like a high horse and tell us to stop posting in these threads because we like MEW for MJ. I am sure you can find something better to do. Fact is you NEVER KNOW. You have failed to provide the source that says... "sources close to negotions report the deal has been finalized and filming is set for (insert date)"... because as of now that source or report does not exist. Don't pull a made up figure that you THINK will be good enough and sell this thing as a done deal... and don't get on people for supporting a different actress in the meantime. The world does not revolve around Spiderman for everyone... including Dunst and even Sony. Both parties are more than capable of moving on.

None of these films are the godfather, but I would put SM1 and 2 up with TDK and Iron Man in terms of quality .Again ,that's why it's just my opinion and I'm far from speaking for every fan .

I'm just gonna say I agree with visionary 100% opinion wise. and spider-man 1 and 2 aren't very good you're all blinded due to it being spider-man the quality of the story isn't really there, those movies are catered towards family friendly stories over characters and accuracy. but they made a **** load of money you people really don't think dunst will make atleast 15mill???? come one

and don't put Iron man in the same category as TDK I finally saw Iron Man yesterday and the first half hour was good... then once he escaped the rest of the movie was just a lame build up to a 10 minute fight scene... I do have high hopes for Iron man 2 it can't be any worse. I'm not saying the actors were bad just the story from after he escapes its lame. and why is Jarvis not a human.. that pissed me off and I'm not even an iron man fan. oh well where were was I? oh iron man had good actors bad story.... the spider-man movies have just had bad everything. the only good acting in spider-man was by JK Simmons.

15 million is a lot of money. They don't throw that kind of money at every other cast member.

and where's the source that says Maguire is getting 50 million?
