Heres something I've often wondered. Stan Lee often talks in interviews about how he decided to establish Mary Jane's character as a carefree party girl who loves good times and what not to differentiate her from Gwen. Well as we all know, it was established in the 80's that the reason she acts that way is to cover up her pain and anguish from coming from an abusive family and having a really hard life. I wonder, has Stan ever stated his feelings before about that particular development. I mean personally, I think it was one of the smartest moves ever made in Spidey's history, it made her a much more rounded character with a lot more depth, and it gave her a better mean's of connecting with Peter, but I've just often wondered how Stan feels about it.
