If I played a female Shep, I'd romance Liara. Kaidan was literally of no interest to me whatsoever throughout my entire time playing. I mean, I'm a completionist in BioWare RPGs and it was tough for me to even talk to the guy to get his backstory. He is, to quote the great Stephen Tiberius Colbert, "a manilla envelope glued to a beige wall."

No, I totally agree. Kaiden is probably my least favorite character from any Bioware RPG. But Corp was talking about changing Ashley and I was just pointing out that that mechanic was actually in the game in some form.

It's for the best. For all we know there is some horrific **** under that visor. I mean...would you rather be curious or possibly see this...

I don't know, I felt like I might've maybe been influencing Ashley a bit. Or maybe it was just a figment of my imagination. I mean, she at least wasn't quite as vocal about hating everything that's not human by about halfway through the game...

Well, maybe how you treat her in ME1 will determine how she is in ME2. I've heard that Garrus' attitude will be heavily dependent on how you treated him in the first game.

I really like Garrus. I'm looking forward to corrupting the hell out of him this time. I think I got him to reapply to C-Sec the first time. This time I'm gonna make him an even dirtier Harry.

I recall his being somewhat crappy in combat, too. I think I'm gonna have to heavily focus on combat/defense for his first few levels and not worry about his omni-tool skills until around level 5 or 10. I know I want my team to be Shep, Wrex, and Garrus this time, though, so I've gotta find some way to make Garrus work.

Its possible to convince Ashley to be Pro-Alien/Pro-Council. I turned Garrus into a renegade so at the end I had Ash all, "We have to save the Council!" And Garrus was like, "**** THAT NOISE!"

LMFAO Too true... It could be some really horrible stuff. It wouldnt make sense really for her to look attractive. Being on those run down ships...getting spanked out of your system/planet by robots. Probably gotta Two-Face thing going on. Half husk, half something.

This thread has my sides hurting. This one is easily better than the other Mass Effect thread.

I don't know why...but I totally dug Kaiden and loathed Ashely. When it came time to choose between him and Ash, I had no problem making that decision.

My crew was always Wrex and Kaiden and we kicked ass all over the place.

Anyone know if your teammates will be able to wear different armor? All I've ever seen are the squad in one set of clothes, and on the Mass Effect Wiki, it says Miranda has an alternate black costume. Does this mean she won't wear armor?

Oh, and according to the Wiki, Yeoman Kelly Chambers is a love interest, even though she's not a squad member. And the relationship from the first game will transfer over, and whether or not you remain faithful will have consequences in the next game.

Interesting. Guess I'll be remaining faithful with my paragon Shepherd. Means I'll probably just stick with Grunt and Thane in my group. My Renegade Shepherd is a chick though, so she's going to be ****ing it up.

Yeah, My first play through is going to be Paragon as well, so I'm going to have to remain faithful to Liara. I'll probably have Jacob and Thane on my team. Jack (Subject Zero) scares the s*** out of me, so I'm only going to use her with my Renegade. I'll probably use Legion with my renegade too.

Like I said before...I've tried to stay "spoiler" free but I keep reading about making your crew loyal to you and keeping them that way. I probably missed it buy how do you go about doing that? Keep switching party members? Talk to every party member and find out their story?

I hate staying in a media blackout because then I feel like an idiot when I ask questions.

Usually it's a mixture of talking with them, having them in your party in key moments that would effect them and then doing special little side quests for them.

I just talked to my crew on the Normandy, A LOT. I never used Ashley on my first play through, but she ended up falling in love with me, which I had to tell her I was in love with Liara. I think I got really close to Kaidan too, before he died that is...

Somebody at Microsoft has flipped a switch a little early, as most of Mass Effect 2's downloadable content is already available. Available for free. For everyone.
The GameStop-exclusive DLC, the stuff supposedly reserved for people picking up the game's special edition, much of it is available for download right now on Xbox Live (note: you'll need to queue it up from a PC first). Best part? It's all available for free.
