Mass Effect 2

well it looks like people are saying two different things...

so if i import my level 60 character, who ive had multiple play throughs with, i cant choose which decisions i did? or can i? someone said YES, then someone said NO.

From what I've heard whatever the latest playthrough with that character was will be the one that the game imports.

It'll show you the major decisions you made like who died on Virmire, the Citadel's fate, whether or not Wrex is alive, etc. etc. but you can't change them.

Each playthrough is a separate stand alone save file.

So if you started from 0 to 30, that's 1 save.

If you played again from 30 to 60, that's a whole other save. Logically thinking of course, just guessing.

well thats incredibly gay.

im gonna be pissed if you cant make it how you want it, given you did it all in ME1. other wise im going to have to play through ME1 again and do everything i want before i can ****ing play ME2. BS!

Well, that's a huge factor in the trilogy that is Mass Effect: to see how the decisions you have made in past games lead up to the final chapter. It would be rather stupid if the developers said "**** what you did last game, we'll let you change the history that you have created from part 1 in part 2" It's counterproductive to the player in a sense...you did all that for nothing kind of thing.

no, im saying if you replayed the game with the same profile, you should be able to select which set of choices you did.

For instance, if you killed the rachni and wrex in one game then didnt kill them the second time, you should be able to choose which set of choices youd like to use. Im not saying to have the ability to mix n match.

You can. By importing the save from the first time, or the second time. The only disadvantage is your first character is a lower level.

Step away from your computer right now. Go start up Mass Effect. Select New Game. Select Choose Exisiting Character or whatever. Those are the saves that will be available for import in Mass Effect 2.

Ok, so... say i played the game 3 times...all with the same character... 2 of those finished games will be level 60. would i be able to pick which of those 2? Sorry, smoking blunts and playing the first game has me all confused. hahahah

Yeah, I don't see how it would be saving multiple play throughs from the same character when the game doesn't even store that info as far as I can see.

yea thats what im talking about.... ive played through a couple different times with my level 60 profile. but under my saves it only has one level 60 game.

My anticipation is through the roof after that trailer.

I dunno about same level, I was just assuming because in my profiles I have a level 36, a level 58 and a level 60. :word:

Heh, at first I thought you were pointing out something like that I had written the same post twice or something. ;)

 lol I was quoting Killuminati too, I dunno what happened. :woot:

Normandy SR-2

I think he's talking about how in the first game, when you killed a number of enemies which a specific weapon, you'd get an achievement for it. You could then start a new game, as an adept for example, and as a bonus you could select the ability to use a rifle (if you had the achievement for it). I guess he wanted to know if that would carry over. If his adept would be able to use a rifle/shotgun/whatever when imported in ME 2. I don't think we'll be able to do that.

Anyway...Some got the game early and it has also been leaked (at least the 360 version) online. So...be careful of spoilers.

As much as I love the 1st game. I didn't want to have to replay the game one more time to be an adept with an assault rifle and take time away from me actually playing ME2.

Mass Effect will continue after the trilogy.

"We're actually going to continue to use it for stuff and we're going to continue to make games there," Zeschuk said. "Believe me, we have our work cut out for us for the next little while getting Mass Effect 3 done after this. Don't worry if you love Mass Effect, there will be more Mass Effect in the future."

Wow, that trailer...was epic beyond words. I'm thoroughly impressed.

i like the other trailer better to be honest... the one with the asari saying 'Sheperd?! but, your dead?!"

The first trailer? Yeah, that's my favorite too. Probably one of the better game trailers in recent memory.

I think it's the music in this one that really sold me. I do like that first one though and the one that was all CGI was pretty damn cool as well.

The announcement of Mass Effect 2's in-game DLC pipeline, "Cerberus Network," left some details unclear. For example, will DLC through Cerberus be free, since the network itself costs money to install for those without a code from a new copy of the game? And will DLC only be available through Cerberus?

In a video interview with Joystiq (to be published later today), BioWare's Dr. Greg Zeschuk cleared up some of the confusion around the DLC portal. "We'll definitely have for-pay DLC down the road too," he said, revealing that the DLC through Cerberus will be free. "It's not going to be all free DLC for Mass Effect 2 -- far from that. There'll be paid DLC packs, and there'll be stuff available through Cerberus as well."

The way Zeschuk puts it, there will be two separate types of DLC: free material that is offered through the Cerberus Network and paid DLC that can be purchased without Cerberus (through BioWare or Xbox Live Marketplace).

I wonder if the game will actually be continuing some parts of the story decisions? I heard that from somewhere a while ago.
