Apparently Tali is a love interest and we don't get to see her face. :csad:

yea thats what im talking about.... ive played through a couple different times with my level 60 profile. but under my saves it only has one level 60 game.

I just started a new playthrough to get to level 60. When you click new game and load a profile, it lists all the completions you've done. I had the choice between my first completion character who was at level 40ish, and my second completion character who was at level 55. I only have one save file, though, so the game saved that data on it's own. I assume this is where ME2 will pull from, it remembers each playthrough even if you've been saving over your first game's saves.

Gotta say, I think EA and Bioware might be on to something in combating the popularity of used game sales.

The Cerebus Network sounds like something that could be a nice reward for fans, while not cutting out casual fans out entirely the way "exclusive" DLC does from Gamestop.

Much as I like my games cheaper, it still is a business and they need to make as much money as they can. Seems like DLC is the golden goose to them not bleeding cash at the hand of Gamestop.

Eh, I'm most likely gonna borrow ME2 from my friend. I don't really care about the Cerberus Network or anything like that.

Which characters does everyone plan on crossing over to the next game first? I have a Paragon character and currently working on a Renegade character. I'm a take my first character [Paragon] over first since I have mostly all of my team in good standing [BLACKOUT]except Ashley since I left her to hit the nuke[/BLACKOUT] But everyone else is still hanging. I cant wait to see what happens in the beginning.

I'll probably finish my Renegade later and then port her over. I plan on doing some horrible damage with her now in ME1 so I can see how it pans out in 2.

I think I'm actually gonna start replaying ME since I bought it super-cheap during the Steam holiday sale and use my save off of that character. My 360 character was a super-good Soldier who ended up with Ashley and lost Kaidan. This time I think I'm gonna go Paragon, but I'm still gonna stick with Ashley and off Kaidan. I never liked Kaidan or Liara all that much.

Yeah, Kaiden was a bit of a snooze and Liara fell in love way too easy, I mean I don't mind alien blue chicks throwing themselves at me but... yeah.

Anyway the Shep I'll be importing played the first 2/3rds Renegade and then I did the last 3rd as a Paragon and ended up with Ash and saved the Council.

Vanguard, level 58 (I was 57, but I think I heard the level up sound after the last part with Saren), 100% paragon, romanced Ashley, lost Kaiden, saved the Rachni, didn't kill Wrex, saved the Council and gave the council seat to Captain Anderson.

Oops, I meant this time I'm gonna go whatever the Biotics-heavy class is, not Paragon. I'm going Renegade this time because my first character was super-Paragonish. I can't remember whether I killed Wrex or not, either. I'll try not to this time because I think he's gonna be my tank since Shep won't be able to shoot his way out of a paper bag on account of all the Biotics goodness.

Kind of wish I picked the default "Shepard" model than a custom female.
All the the video promo's, cover, even the main loading screen use that model. It's sort of off putting.

Yea, I think it's also got a problem with characters "emotionally resonating moments" when you don't care about them.

Never really used Wrex or Kaidan or had much and there "dramatic" death scenes left me somewhat apathetic. Dragon Age also has this problem towards the end of the game with all the characters "well this is it then" speeches, if you only mainly have interest in 3-4 of them, or acquired them fairly recently the rest of the party tends to be fluff.

My Shepard had more hair, I remember. I probably won't bother customizing my PC character, though. It is a bit offputting to have BioWare advertise everything with one model; makes that one version feel like "the real Shepard."

No way. I've tried to make other male characters or even use the "canon" Shepard, but I just can't stand seeing my Shepard's voice come out of some other dude's face...now that's off-putting. Therefore, all of my alts are female.

That's a problem with all games though. And movies. And TV. And books for that matter.

I mean specifically with games...Look at Aeris in Final Fantasy VII. You meet her very early on in the game and she's in your party for a pretty long time. For a lot of gamers her death was a really powerful moment. But for me I was just like, "Whatever." Because I never really liked her all that much.

On the other hand, in Mass Effect Wrex was rarely if ever in my party in my very first playthrough, but I always enjoyed talking to him after missions. Getting to know his history and cuture and such. Personally, Wrex dying was one of the few moments in games that felt really emotional to me. I was super-pissed when Ashley killed him. Guess who stayed behind on Virmire! :awesome:

A non-gaming example would be that most people love Kate from Lost. I can't ****ing stand her.

Point is, even when you spend a lot of time with a character there's no guarantee that you'll like them.

I killed Ashley by accident on my first play-through. I came to that situation and I was like, "Oh, I'll have Ash handle things; she's super-competent and will get the job done." Then she went boom and I liked her enough that I reloaded and had Kaidan die instead 'cause I didn't care about him at all.

*The Normandy races from the planet just as the nuke goes off.

Shep: Good one guys. So uh where's Ash?
Kaiden: Sorry sir... She didn't make it.
Shep: ...
Kaiden: Sir?
Shep: Turn the ship around Joker, we're leaving Kaiden behind instead!

I've gotten used to the default Shepard from all the videos and stuff we've see him in and I actually think he looks better (more detailed) than the custom ones. However, I created my own Shepard in ME and I consider both mine and the default as the "real" Shepard. Every time I watch a different (than mine or the default) Shepard, it just feels weird.

Actually, it was more like:

Shep: All right, now how do we retrieve Ashley?
Kaiden: What?
Shep: Ashley. She went off to do... something or other. We're not just gonna leave her there.
Kaiden: Uh... you do know that there was a nuclear explosion, right?
Shep: Yeah, so?
Kaiden: So she's dead.
Shep: Oh, so she'll come back later on her own?
Kaiden: No, she's, like, dead dead. Dead for all the sequels and everything.
Shep: ... Oh, hell no. You there! Yeah, you, the guy in boxers who desperately needs a shower. Reload and do this s*** right!

Yes, sometimes my games talk to me. I'm normal! :awesome:

Well of course Bioware's Shep is more detailed, they didn't make Shep using the character creator.

Anyway, I actually passed up on making a Custom Shep since I thought the default looked quite good so I'm happy the quality of the model has been improved even further.

Probably the only thing I'll change about my Shep this time is that I'll give him a beard. Beards are awesome and I want my Shep to be awesome.

Beards are awesome... the only thing more awesome than a beard would be a beard WITH a beard.
