Firewalker DLC coming in "late March" Source

Hopefully the missions are better than the Normandy crash site.

What was wrong with the Normandy Crash Site?

Let's see, things going for it: free, available on release, pertains to an exciting part of the game for any new player...

Yeah, totally sucks.

It was probably already part of the game and/or specifically designed to combat pre-owned.
To me personally it did seem to be just a small map doing a mundane activity, the mood it was trying to convey or any empathy didn't carry over. It's nice it's there I suppose, it's better than nothing.

Exactly.

It being free pretty much absolves it of any wrongdoing, for me atleast.
That is a horrible prospective to have on content that is supposed to encourage consumers to purchase their products new IMO. The whole point of the C-net is supposed to give their consumer a perception of value, if the content release is lackluster and people dont perceive it as valuable then noone will be enticed to make the purchase they want you to.

I like the Mass Effect model more than the Dragon Age model but they have yet to really prove to me that I should support it if they decide to do it again.

If the Normandy Crash Site was all there was...I might have agreed. But, the Zaheed Messani thing was cool, I though, and added another quest.

The Cerebrus armor and shotgun were nice add-ons too, and the Hammerhead stuff looks interesting to me because I enjoyed the Mako in ME1.

I think the Crash Site being free, along with those, for a game I would have gotten new regardless...is nothing but icing on the cake for me.

Zaeed is the only content so far that I think shows promise for the C-net model.

The way the art assets are built for the armor sets negates most peoples desire to wear them from what I have seen.

I see where someone in your position (someone buying it new regardless) could see this as an irrelevant matter but to many others, particularly the market that Bioware is trying to capture, it is very relevant.

I recently have found myself becoming more and more interested in matters like this which is probably very understandable considering how much more things like this are affecting everything we buy.
How will they be able to tell if you purchased the game new?
They cant really. If you purchased the game new (within a certain time frame) then it should include a code for the Cerberus network included "free". If you purchase it used however the assumption is that you wont have a code and therefore will have to purchase access for $15 if you want the content released through the network.

So, this Firewalker DLC is connected to a previous code, I guess? Or was there just a general CN code you got with the game when you go it new? I honestly don't remember

Yes, the Firewalker DLC pack is supposed to be released through the Cerberus network which you should have gotten a code for included in your box if you purchased the game new.

You COULD get lucky, like I have in the past. I bought Wolverine used, and Gears of War 2 used...and both had unused cards inside for a map pack, and the danger room.

So, in theory...someone could just overlook it, not use it and then trade it in at gamestop, and someone could still get to use the C-Net card.

Essentially, Flash is correct...it's meant to sway people who are on the fence, to NOT wait to buy it used when the price drops. Is it suceeding at that? No, I would say not.

But, I would argue that the C-Net does create a nice fan service for people who might have felt really down about the lack of DLC for ME1, and whatnot. But, yes. I would agree with Flash...so far, C-Net has not done enough to convince someone who isn't sure.

Just beat this for the first time. I got every achievement except Pursue a Relationship (My lady Shepard is stickin' with Liara) and Play on Insanity.

I think my next step is to play through ME1 with a male renegade and make all different decisions then play 2 again. :yay:

If you read our posts and think that its "complaining about free stuff" then you don't really understand the discussion that was taking place.

some DLC is good and some DLC is 'horse armor', but IMO if it's free, you're not losing anything if it sucks

That isn't really true either. Opportunity cost.

Anyways, apparently the article I liked to earlier forgot to mention another Cerberus release. A new type of heavy weapon coming on a date to be announced soon. Source

Anyone let down with Liara's reaction to your return? I found myself wishing I'd chose Ash on the renegade playthrough.

I found Ashley's reunion with Shepard to be much more satisfying. To the point where the reunion with Kaiden is ****ing akward.

Yeah, I suppose so. Bioware said that there would be consequences in Mass Effect 3 for Shepard cheating on his Mass Effect 1 love interest so I actually avoided Liara after I first met her. (Which, by the way, I think is kind of a little BS on Bioware's part for forcing that on you. Sexing once =/= relationship in my eyes.)

I sacrificed Ashley in the first game.

And yes, Kaiden was weird. I wanted a renegade option to punch him for being a jerkface.

I stuck with Liara through ME1 and my ME2 game, she definitely acts weird toward Shepard in ME2, but there was a kiss greeting. I kept it alive so it wil play out in ME3.

Its funny, because since she was a virgin in ME1...I think Bioware wanted to make it seem like she'd have the most emotional attachment to you. But, playing through ME2 it seemed like she had moved on and continued on just fine. Didn't seem like a relationship at to me, just a one night thing. Whereas Ash dropped the L-word.

Again, Kaiden was just awkward as hell. The homoerotic undertones carried over from ME1, without any dialouge options it seemed.

In my renegade playthough, it's akward just because it seemed like the reunion with him meant more than the one with Liara.

I hardly cared for the guy in ME1. Maybe if they'd had made them like brothers in combat or something, I dunno.

And Garrus is so my ****ing wingman.
