Matthew Vaughn to direct Thor

That's the thing about Urb. He definitely has the look, but he started as a male model and his biggest role to date was in a WB series that was cancelled pretty quick. So does he have the chops?

Boots will easily make Kevin a bit taller so I don't worry much about his height as I do his mass. Give him steriods, no one tests actors

Loki = Crispin Glover

First someone suggested Paul Bettany, and now Crispin Glover?? Sweet Christmas, it's the Joker casting all over again!

At least we know how it ends this time around: Heath Ledger is Loki, now let's move on.

Loki and the Joker actually have quite a bit in common that I never even thought about. Clown Prince of Crime and the God of Mischief, Evil and Lies

Crispin has been suggested quite a bit for Loki long before Batman Begins even hit.

McKidds got the voice. BTW, Does anyone know where they are filming? New Zealand maybe? Australia?

I just hope this casting pans out, and isn't just some rumour made up when someone saw that Ray Stevenson was cast as the Punisher and they saw McKidd was his co-star in Rome and thought "heh, that guy would actually make a good Thor."

this is pretty funny, as long as it doesnt pan out that is.

Chalk this one up for the rumor mill. Wrestling fansite pwinsider is reporting that WWE Superstar HHH is being consider to play the part of Thor in Marvel's upcoming film adaptation of the comic book superhero.

"-Marvel Comics Executives are pushing for HHH to be cast in a feature film adaptation of Thor. Matthew Vaughn, the director slated for the project, is against the idea. He is hoping instead to cast Kevin McKidd of HBO's Rome series."

Triple H = bad choice. I remember a bunch of people wanting him to be Conan as well.

I'd love to see a screentest of Triple H just for kicks but c'mon now. This isn't Street Fighter 4

Let's talk the physical appearance of Thor.
Seriously, other superhero films have been able to get away with characters not being as jacked as their comic counterparts, but I can't see this happening with Thor. Physically, we can't be having a skinny guy playing Thor without CGI (I don't care what you say, Thor needs to be jacked, one way or the other). Acting ability aside, we are anticipating the norse god of lightning. A god.

^ True but he's not ******ed so we have to have somoene who can act or forget it.

Sigh....just give it to Jason Lewis, damn.

This is the only shot I could find of him that remotely demonstrates that he could pull it off. Normally I'd be all iffy about posting this type of stuff, but since every dude on here seems to be so comfy talking about Thor's body, you should be cool. I know you all have man crushes on these guys.

Wow, now Russell Crowe is a damn fine choice.
It's along the lines of Joaquin Phoenix rumors for Two-Face.
Hopefully, these are true.

^ No you misunderstood me. Stax is giving a dream chocie for the role with Crowe in the lead. It's not news.

Bah!!

In no way would Russell Crowe ever be able obtain the chiseled visage of the Norse God of Thunder.

Russell Crowe could physically put himself in shape if he really wanted it. The guy has done physical transformations before. Look at his work from The Insider to Gladiator. Having said that, I don't think he would be the best candidate for Thor. I believe it would be more prudent to procure an actor who is younger. Russell Crowe is getting on in years, and is already well into his 40's. That's old enough to be someone's grandpa.

I agree, as good as Crowe is, I don't see him as Thor any more than that McKidd. Even less actually. Besides, Crowe is kinda old by now and would look ridicilous white long blonde hair.
