Sounds like Raimi still hopes to get together with Danny to compose the film, working together with Chris Young.

"Umm... Right now I believe we... Umm... I haven't yet spoken with Danny, but I'm hoping it will be Danny Elfman working in conjunction with Chris Young."

-Sam Raimi, Comic Con 2006

I hope so. Sam and Danny are two of my favourite people in the business. It seems sad that they would fall out.

They had a falling out once before on ANOTHER film, didnt they? Way before they worked together on SM?

They made up then, they probably will again.

Sometimes friends bicker, especially over creative issues...

If Elfman leaves does that mean the theme cannot be used?

Because really... both spiderman 1 and 2 had basically the same exact composition for the credits. They could paste it into Spiderman 3s credits.

Speaking of, I would like to see paintings of spiderman 2s events at the beginning of spiderman 3. That was pretty good.

No...the theme can be used, just like John William's Superman theme was used for the rest of the Superman movies.

Personally, I think Elfman was being a lil' **** when he left the project. He kept complaining that Raimi was making him do different stuff than what he normally does, yet in an earlier interview he said he liked being pushed to make different sounding music. Elfman couldn't handle the heat...so he got out of the kitchen. I sort of like what he did with Spider-Man but I don't consider him not being involved with Spider-Man 3 a terrible loss...

I hope elfman is involved in the score since he did so well on the previous two. Plus they need to use some version of the Spider-Man theme.

Actually - I heard something different.

I heard that Sam Raimi was behaving erratically. Danny Elfman's worked with Raimi for 20 YEARS - he wouldn't leave over something that trivial. I heard that Sam Raimi was acting very bizarre and uncharacteristically, acting like a totally different person than the one Elfman's known for 20 years, because of the stress of making Spidey 3.

Sam Raimi better get it together.

The truth of the matter is that this is the third or fourth production Elfman has left citing creative differences and the director and/or studio oppressing him. Since Raimi hasn't caused anyone else to flee on any of his other productions, and everybody has nothing but kind words for him, I am going to side on the opinion that Elfman is just being a diva.

Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Well you know thats why directors move on often after part 2... i bet 3 times wears you down. Hats off to Raimi imo. If hes as stressed out as some say, he should conclude it with this one at risk of some new guy coming in and messing it up.
