World MCG suit design

Are you SURE this is not Ratner's design? The \S/ shield is identical to the one he planned on using.

it's either the Ratner or the McG design... I know it's one of the two.

looking around on Deviant Art, I found this piece of art... I've read a long time ago about what the MCG suit what of looked like, and after comparing what I know about it and this pic, I believe that this is an official suit design of that era.

personally, I like it. I like the use of color that it uses, as it keeps an opverly bright look to Superman... it may be a bit bright for my tastes, but it does look colorfully appealing.

At least he put the 'S' shield on the back. For a remake of the suit it is not bad.

Odd thing is...I made my own Superman design, like, two years ago, and it looks EXACTLY like this.

BTW Heres a interesting interview about the suit: http://www.superman-v.com/interview.php?id=4

P.S: The way the superman is profile from 3 different angles looks almost identical to something i saw in Alex Ross's MYTHOLOGY.
Yeah, I saw that one... not digging the writing on the belt though...

I love the colors in this one. think Singer and crew concentrated too much on the blue. The emphasis should be on the red.

But I still liked the SR suit.

I completely agree with your red and blue emphasis... I would love to see that suit in action.

I can already imagine the fanboy complaints... The shield is too big - irony, irony -, what´s with the red on the belt, where are the briefs, etc.

I really like the S on the cape with red bits in the yellow, rather than all yellow. If they put an S on the cape in the next movie they should do it like that. I remember seeing a manip of the Returns suit that was like that.

Seriously? THAT over Singers?
seriously. I really like it... it has a more of a regal feel to it than the traditional/classic suit does, but that doesn't that I don't support the traditional/classic suit...

I completely support the thought of change in the overall look of Superman's costume, as long as they keep a moderately bright color palette. Now keep in mind, I'm not saying Donner bright... heck, even the color palette on that one is a bit bright for my tastes... I would of preferred something a bit more muted... something like this:

darker than the Donner colors, but still has a very effective brightness to it, and still carries that overall positive look that Superman has in his character

ok..... here it goes...

1. the S is wayyyyyy to big... make it smaller
2. belt needs to go...make something else instead...

otherwise i kinda like it

I'd rather have that than Singers...

I agree. Singer's is much too slimline. This one makes Supes look more grand (which he should do).

I can agree with that.

Singer's Superman suit, as well as the film in itself, was a bit too morose for my tastes.
This type of change and coloring (brighter than the SR suit, but not SM:TM light) is something I would have definately preferred over what we ultimately recieved.

And yeah, it does have something of a regal look to it. Certainly more eye catching.

hmm... it sounds like these designs were made at a time after the Burton Era had finished... these actually MAY be Ratner desgns...
I say McG because one of the people who built the Winston/McG suit describes something identical to this. No undies or yellow belt.

Someone on these boards posted last year a manipulation of Routh with this suit on.
Probably someone who had already seen this design.

Interesting....

Me neither.

He's not wearing his underwear outside his pants. That automatically makes it a better suit for me.

it's not underwear... it's trunks... there's a difference.

Eh...maybe a couple years ago I might have preferred the McG suit, but I'm happier with the one we got.

I'm not digging it,but I do like the brighter colors..

This suit would of been awesome if they restarted the whole Superman franchise without any connection to the Donner and Reeve movies. But since Singer's movie was based off of Donner's vision then I'm am pretty satisfied with the suit we ended up with. They just need to change the colors to what the McG's design looks like then I would be happy. But keep in mind guys that this suit was made out foam rubber latex like the Batman Movies, so the suit may of looked like crap in real life. I do know that this is'nt Ratner's design because his "S" design didn't have yellow inside it but black, it was more like like the Kingdom Come and Fleisher suits. Plus the "S" looks way different.
