I finally ended the Marvel Cinematic Universe marathon...watched all 18 films in chronological order and watched the last 2 films in the universe today. I watched Thor Ragnarok (2017) and watched Black Panther (2018) on my laptop well because I had 2 more films left to go. Honestly, I can't believe that it is over.
With Thor Ragnarok as far as Thor films go I will say this it is better than the first 2 combined and that is saying a lot. Thor Ragnarok never ceases to amaze me even with every viewing. It is funny really funny but also a lot more characters that were introduced that honestly if they do stick around in the MCU I will be so happy like such characters such as: Korg, Miek and Grandmaster. Skurge's death was done beautifully and I can't even call Skurge a villain. He is more or less a reluctant villain well an anti-hero because he more or less sacrifices himself for Asgard just so the Asgardians can live. I will say Ruffalo's Banner/Hulk has his best performance here vs any Marvel film he has been in to date. Blanchett she was perfect as Hela with Marvel getting it right as far as casting her in that role but I do have to wonder if she will be back considering the comic tie in with Thanos. However, as far as performances go Hemsworth probably had his best performance as Thor in Ragnarok because in Dark World and even in the first Thor film he came off as being one-note.
Black Panther (2018) hands down for me as far as MCU films go it is the best one in the universe out of all the 18 films bar none. It continues to be a cultural phenomenon and at the box office it continues to break box office records even after a month after its release practically. Not to mention it is a film that just resonates with the average viewer but also because of the tragic hero's journey behind it.
