This movie has to be one of my favorite movies.
The movie had this feel to it that I loved and was also a nice love story.
Very solid performances by Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt, and Claire Forlani.
The movie had a very interesting concept with Death taking human form to know what it was like.

Does anyone else like this movie?

You just saw it on AMC didn't you?;)

Truly amazing film though.

watching it on AMC right now actually, flippin back and forth to nip/tuck

Absolutely underrated.

great movie, one of a few that proves brad pitt doesn't get enough respect as an actor.

pitt played that role like johnny depp in edward scissorhands. but yeah, pitt is a great actor, most people do underrate him as an actor just because his good looks

Love this film, my girlfriend cries everytime. I fell for Forlani after seeing this she is stunning.

Its ok - I think Brad looks a bit clean cut. And it kind of reeks of self importance or something. I do like it though its a cool story.

Amazing score...

it's also one of the few brad pitt pieces i actually like. it's probably because he doesn't say much.

it is very slow pace but the only way it manages to get away with that is because we all know (to a certain extent) that hopkins is going to die at the end and it is this inevitability of it that manages to carry it.

saying that, i do believe claire forlani's character still dreams about death when she's boning the other dude.

  • Best "struck by a car" scene ever, forever ever

  • Claire Forlani is unwatchable. She is both a Lip-Freak and thinks dewey-eyed squinting counts as acting.

  • I'd love to be cynical and dismissive, but as I am obsessed with mortality, the end always gets me. I love AH realizing that the whole party thing isn't really for him, it's for all of the people who love him, so he just kind of smiles and tries to be gracious with all of the nonsense.

It was good enough movie.

I liked there Pitt and Hopkins, but Forlani was meh.

Script and dialogues were ok, but I was waiting for something more.

My rate is 7 out of 10.

I dig it. It's very good.

It's his way of trying to play the embodiment of Death. I didn't like his performance.

the movie really really surprised me. the only reason i saw it the first time is my friend lauren has a thing for young robert redford and pitt bears an eerie resemblance to him in the movie. i wasn't expecting much, but now i love it. and claire forlani is beautiful.

I agree she can't act, but I don't care, she gets a free pass in my book.

I just finished watching it a while ago.
I absolutely love the scene when Death and Anthony Hopkins walk over the bridge.

My favorite scene of the movie, and the peanut butter scene.

Anthony Hopkins is just amazing. My all time favorite actor of any generation.

Love this movie. It's really underrated. Pitt was excellent in it, as was Anthony Hopkins. Claire Forlani is a honey. The story is somewhat naïve at times, but I like it. It takes its time getting anywhere and that's just fine for a film like this. I enjoy the class and style of it.

It was okay. I watched it once, a while back. it just struck me as okay. Anthony Hopkins was great (as expected) but Claire Forlani and the rest just did not do it for me. I'd mention Brad Pitt, but he took on a hefty role, and just did not play it as well as I would have liked. But as I say, it is "death" so it's not the easiest part to nail.

He's so great now (and it's hard to tell if it's great acting or just being a great personality/celebrity/professional, at times), that it's kind of pointless to even critique his performance, and it's moved into more of a "critiquing the roles he chooses". (Kind of like Robert DeNiro)

'Cause he wasn't acting crappily in "Instinct", but the movie was so ridiculous, it's hard to say "He did great."

He was by far the best thing in MJB...except seeing Brad Pitt turn into a rag doll. :)
