Mega Man 9 (XBLA, PSN, WiiWare)

You're right, they are not much on exclusives anymore. I'm just happy to be getting it on the Wii. It wouldn't be the same playing Mega Man in his original glory on anything but a Nintendo system.

the Wiimote is perfect considering its pretty much the same layout as a classic NES controller

"Just because the game's a digital download doesn't mean Capcom can't make an intentionally horrible box for it. Check it out."

LMAO @ the boxart.

I hear the charge shot and slide have been removed. True?

ahh, the memories of my youth

I liked Mega Man more than Mario though :ninja:

oh man, I so want a Mega-Man X9 game.
can't they end this franchise?

nah it was horrible after X6. Going 3D was a huge mistake for it

Well truth be told, this is how the Mega Man franchise works for me.

Mega Man 1-6, Mega Man & Bass were all awesome.

Mega Man 7,8 were passable, but nowhere neare as fun for me as the NES games.

Mega Man X 1-4 I really enjoyed.

Mega Man X 5-8 were poop on a stick.

Mega Man Legends 1-2 were fantastic.

Zero series, ZX series I have heard are all fun, but haven't played them myself so I can't say.

Anything involving chips or battle networks can go and die. :o

I think MM7 and MM8 might've suffered because of the larger sprites.

I'm doing some massive cleaning in these forums, moved to it's proper spot.

That's a big job now that it seems everything is going multi-plat other than 1st party games.

They look great actually. Magma Man looks like they redesigned Needle Man.

All in all though, great stuff.

Tornado Man looks like Gyro Man with Air Man's powers.

Anyone know why the change back to 8-bit?

They have explained in interviews that they felt the way to honor the original Mega Man and the fans of hardcore classic Mega Man action.

And like Geo said, because it's cool.

I think that it was the best idea Capcom has had for Mega Man in years. My favorite Mega Man series was the original, and I thought that the games lost their charm once moved to the SNES and then the PS1. I'm hoping it's a hit and maybe it will get Capcom to make more sequels in the classic style.
