So lets say you work somewhere where you have to put quarters in the meter during your shift where you park, and it's from 8 AM - 6 PM that you have to have money in the meter.
9 times out of 10, the meter maid doesn't seem to check after 3pm, so you go weeks without putting any more money in the meter when 3pm rolls around...you get away with it all the time.
One day, you go out to put a quarter in your meter at like 2 PM and there's already an hour in there...so you go back into the work place. Few minutes later, co-worker tells you you got a ticket.
You check, and yeah....you have a ticket and there's still time in the meter. Then some lady who works at the diner across the street tells you that she had sent someone out to put money in her meter and they accidentally put it in your car, instead of hers, which is parked behind you.
She told all this to the meter maid as she started writing the ticket a few minutes back, and instead of giving her the ticket, the meter maid wrote it up for you.
Do you pay the ticket?
